Great Golf Course but be forewarned

Amazing golf course, setting, history. A destination for golf. We came from out of town, paid the $43 per person advance fee to get a tee time over 8 days ahead. Lots of anticipation for a memorable day. Tees: DIRT. Tee markers hadn't been moved in many weeks? They could still move side to side and not affect the tournament... More

Last Sunday during the the prime time rate period, no effort was made by the city to prepare the course. The tee boxes were all forward tees and had not been moved for several days. To make matters worse, all the tee markers were together so there was no option for golfers to chose based on their ability. Duly noted,... More

We played one of the first twilight rounds 3 days after they reopened the course following fall maintenance. The maintenance issue should have been fine since they warned us both on the website as well as at the starter shack, but they did not explain just bad the conditions are. In particular the greens have been punched with heavy sand... More

This coarse has been one the of best places I have ever golfed. The coarse is wide open and along the coast line for great views. A must place to golf if your in the area.

I try to drive by every time I'm in San Diego. The views are out of this world and there is a great lunch spot at the lodge that is reasonable to grab lunch.

Torrey Pines has a great location, views are fabulous, the course is tough with a great layout. But the course is poorly maintained which is a shame and takes away from the overall enjoyment and value. If you're a non-San Diego resident I would recommend finding a better alternative in the area.

What a beautiful picturesque way to play golf. Course is long and can be hard. We played the south course. My big mistake I rented clubs and had a bad round so word to the wise do bring your own clubs Course is expensive but a must for the avid golfer. 3rd hole Par 3 elevated tee to a green... More

This is not a cheap course to play which is understandable as a US Open course. I am glad we played it as it is nice to have played such a course. Some great views and I would especially mention the 3rd, 6th and 12th as great holes. The greens were quick and in very good shape but some of... More

I found it expensive and crowded, the golf course itself was awesome. South side had good panoramic views. No bathroom, or did not fined one when needed in the back 9. Otherwise a good experience in general.

I treated myself to two rounds at Torrey Pines South (North course was under renovation) during my recent visit to San Diego. I had planned to play only once, but enjoyed the experience so much that I returned a few days later when the opportunity presented itself. Getting a tee time was a bit of a challenge. Keep an eye...
