This activity is somewhat expensive and you certainly won't have the boat to yourself (ha ha: aside from chartering it and paying for all the seats...)
We had a full load, say 30 people total.
Captain Chris was exceptional. He had total command of the boat which is probably not easy given the load. We went to the mouth of the river (unfortunately a very fine day and wildlife already chased off by numerous humans), then quite a ways up river.
Given the other rivers along the California Coast seem mostly dried up, Klamath River still had plenty of water.
Jet boat is fast; Capt Chris gave us plenty of thrills spinning the boat and sudden stops with waves over the bow. But also stopped for wildlife. The biggest thrill, surely lucky, was seeing a black bear! Easier to see are birds: we saw eagles and ospreys as well as numerous herons and egrets.
River scenery is stunning all the way along.
Interesting to hear about a 1964 flood. (We could use another flood these days...)
All in all we thoroughly enjoyed this. I'm sure our luck in getting a seat in the very front of the boat helped!

Three of us went for a 10:30 jet boat tour with Captain Chris and it was SO great! The foggy weather was perfect, water was low and we could see how skilled Chris was. He stopped and showed us an eagle nest and pointed out hawks and buzzards in addition to Native American history. Very good value.

I've lived on the north coast for over half my life and have always wanted to take the jet boat tour but never did it until this weekend. All I can say is it was Amazing! The captain did a great job telling the local history of the area and pointing out significant spots. He even took us on several spins. The most exciting part of the tour was seeing all of the wildlife... sea lions, ospreys, bald eagles, even bears! I counted five that I saw myself. I would highly recommend this attraction for all who have an adventurous spirit, old and young alike.

The captain and wildlife spotter are fantastic. The captain kept us entertained with well placed jokes and threw in some fun and exciting 360 degree turns that never got old. We got to see Bald and Golden eagle, coyotes, and several other bird species. Learning more about the area was also great. We would definitely recommend Klamath River Jet Boat Tours and can’t wait to go back soon!

The Klamath Jet Boat Ride is the main thing we do when company comes to visit us. It is consistently awesome; relaxing yet invigorating. Golden Eagles, Bald Eagles, I even saw a bear once. As we go deeper up river, it feels like you are going back in time. There is not a telephone pole or a spot of garbage to be seen.

Seems family run-- a 1-boat company. They load very carefully, keeping the passengers balanced. Pilot did not introduce himself, how long he's been jetting, his history, his partner. What is the Yurok connection? Pilot good at spotting wildlife. Included many bears on water's edge (maybe 7, at 4 or 5 locations). Saw an osprey making multiple dives, sea lions, bald eagle, golden eagle, a mink with a fish as big as he was, pelicans, herons, turkey vultures (soon California condors). The Klamath is substantial, wide, shallow, few riffles, lots of room for the jetboat tricks, like spins and 'brake check' stops. It got much warmer as you travel upriver. I was expecting those stops that cause a wave up front and a wind that blows a cooling spray back over the passengers. Our pilot did few. We've done Grants Pass Hellgate nearly yearly for 20 yrs, Gold Beach Jerry's Jetboats a couple times, and haven't been kept so dry. We don't need to get soaked anymore. But I think some passengers were very disappointed and it cost the pilot bigtime tips.
We stayed at Golden Bear RV Park next door. Since we travel in a mini motorhome without a tow car, need to be walking close. Glad I discovered this park because it is not on their website?

Staff is very friendly and professional. Takes you from the mouth of the river and then upstream for a total of a 2 hour trip. Boat captain points out wildlife and points of interest with informative narrative. Several times during our trip he gives us a thrill with a 360 turn in the water. River was lovely. Fun trip.

Excellent, fun, well organized, and exciting boat tour!
Our boat captain was sure to call out all wildlife, answer all questions, and tell the history of some of the points of interest as we jetted from the mouth of the Klamath River up to our turn around point.
The boat was comfortable and the staff in the gift shop/sign in counter were two very helpful and friendly young men.
The booking experience on line was simple and easy to follow.
I did this tour with my own kids many years ago on a field trip, and was so happy to take our grandkids this time.
We saw many bald eagles, ducks, cormorants, a turtle, and even got to watch a bear eating some greens on the side of the river for a good 5 minutes!
And yes - there were spins, and plenty of them!

I took my husband and 12-year-old daughter on the one hour jet boat tour in hopes of seeing some wildlife. I was told the ride was gentle minus a few spins, but there were several bumpy bits. My daughter is generally not a huge fan of motor boats, but enjoy Ed the spins for which we were given notice. However, the captain thought I’d would be cute NOT to give notice for the last spin and since we were sitting in the front row (where people are instructed to hold on tightly during the spins) my daughter fell right off the bench. I was really not amused, as my phone almost flew into the river and my daughter could have gotten hurt. The scenery was pretty, but we jetted back and forth almost solely to check boxes rather than to really enjoy the river. Aside from a family of Mergansers and a few Ospreys, we didn’t see any other wildlife. The trip was disappointing and I wished I had used the time for a hike, as there are so many phenomenal trails in the area. Unless you’re a huge fan of motor boats and have cash to burn, I would not bother with this tour.

This was our second time taking the trip. Once 4 years prior, we enjoyed it so much we had to do it again. We were not disappointed at all on the second trip. The captain was very informative with a few bad jokes for entertainment but not over done. The spin outs helped keep smiles on our kids faces and keep them entertained. Was great to see bears on shore once again and the natives fishing and making a living. We also have a son with disabilities and they were very accommodating and it’s nice we are able to share the family experience with all of us. Great views, experience, fun, and educational. You will not be disappointed!
