Provides an excellent transition from the bus station and commercial shopping area to the temple grounds. Must get crazy busy in the Summer, what with all the tourists taking pictures etc.

We visited on a Tuesday around 11am. It is super crowded with tourists esp. many China tours. I don't think I would want to visit again.

There are tourist-type shops on both sides of the street that is catered for pedestrians walking only. Do not miss the Umegae Mochi, a traditional sweet that is unique to the town of Dazaifu!

There are lots of shops here, you can buy souvenirs or try the local foods. Just next to the Dazaifu Tenman-gu, if you are planning to visit the shrine, you should not miss this street.
