Nice place to walk during winter, children can see the sulfur mountain, the real one. No entrance fee but quite crowded with tourist. Overall, good visit for Noboribetsu.

The place is located near the hotel which will take 5 mins to walk from where we are staying in. Went over to visit at the night after our dinner but due to wet weather, the fireworks performance is being cancelled nevertheless we still proceed to walk around the area. The place is full of smoke from the earth we didn't manage to complete the walk at night as the folk's legs can't take it, therefore, we went to the hotel after the short walk. Got to say the place is a must go if you are in Noboribetsu as is a very nice place to take photos. I can felt in the night can't imagine how beautiful will the place look in the morning.

This is the entrance to the paths to see the Hell Valley. A tourist information centre is nearby. Everyone would like to take a photo at this particular site. I think the best time to take a colourful picture is around 5 pm in a sunny day 'cause the presence of sunlight will provide the optimal colour temperature. Beware of tourists always standing in front of you when you were taking your photos.

Location It is just right by the hotel area. If weather allows you can just walk up from the hotel within 20mins. But if not, there are parking facilities which takes 500yen per day, and it can be multi-entry (there's other parking lots from other entrance) Things to do It is where the onsen come from for the area. the view is stunning and the walk was pleasurable. There are varied trail to pick from but all of them won't require extensive equipment. Just prepared 1-2 hours and you shall be able to have some good walk there. Just be aware, there's quite a sulfur smell in the area so kids/ pregnant ladies may find it not pleasant. But in general, you'll be used to that smell very soon.
