You can walk there from Hell Valley. It takes approx. 45 min for a around trip.
Alternatively, you can drive up there, but there is a parking charge of 500 Yen. Just 5-10 minute drive from Hell valley

Pretty interesting hike...although there may be a strong smell of sulphur on certain days, which may be unbearable for those with respiratory problems.
This volcanic pond (see the photos) is a short walk from the Jigokudani (Hell's valley) in Noboribetsu, and would make a nice hiking experience (please note, it is not a circular route, and you will probably need to retrace your steps. Driving in the area is recommended.
KEY POINT TO NOTE: There is a natural foot bath approximately 15 mins walk from the Oku No Yu carpark (see pictures). If you are planning to visit this foot bath (quite an interesting experience which allows you a nice respite for your feet - though it leaves your feet smelling of sulphur), please plan ahead and check the weather, wear good shoes for hiking (which are easy to remove and easy to put back on) and bring a towel to dry your feet after the bath!

Okunoyu is a little pond with plenty of sulphur smell. If drive, park in the Parking lot next to the Little pond. The Jugokudani parking can be re used the second time, so you will get free parking if you have paid earlier.
As for the view of this little pond, you get an amazing 360 degree view when you walk around the walking path. This place is worth a visit as part of your itinerary to Hells Valley.

– Okunoyu is a smaller hot spring lake located at the opposite side of the parking lot as Oyunuma. It is a black sulfur spring that reportedly has a conic floor, although it is hard to see the floor because the water is so turbid. The surface temperature is about 85 ˚C and hot water bubbles up from the bottom. Visited 16 October 2017.

Is this a hot spring ruin which used to be a hot spring hotel? Don't know for sure. However, the nature scene is gorgeous with smog swinging and moving around. We ever saw a deer ran downhill but did not have any luck to take a picture of it. It is smuts visit spot in 登別
