You can smell the ozone--that before-it-rains scent--lovely and refreshing. A lot more crowded than I thought and not wheelchair friendly. Shops selling foods outside so you can rest before/after. Must have a car to get there.

You get up to the falls by catching the bus - which is a bit of an adventure in itself - make sure you have lots of coins available. The bus trundles up the mountainside, past lots of onsen and eventually to the stop with...More

The problem is getting there. If you have a car, it is a 25 minutes scenic drive (wonderful in the autumn) with a one time Y400 toll for the car. If you go by bus, they run infrequently from JR. Then you have to wait...More

A short drive from town along some scenic mountain roads. Short walk up from the parking and it gets cool as you go up. In fact at the falls it’s about 5 degrees cooler than where you start. Very refreshing, especially in summer 2018.

Worth a visit! Our first stop over on our list. It was amazing! The sound of the flowing waters was so relaxing to hear.

nice little waterfall area, good energy, not much to do in the area, better to go by car, maybe you`ll spend 10-20 minutes here at most.

Hello Very beautilful and interesting waterfall. Highly recommend to see some nature and enjoy the cooler weather. We took the Shinkansen from Tokyo Station to Karuizawa station. Then the local bus from the station up to the waterfall. There is visitor information center at the...More

If you have a car it's a nice destination. Though not big, it's cooler than the town, great for hot summer.

Nice place to go to. Seems popular among japanese tourists as well. There are aa few shop with lokal specialities at the street as well. it's worth a trip but you don't need to plan whole day for it.

I wouldn't say it's a must do, but if you have a car, or want a quiet walk in the woods, it's a nice destination. There is a fast-moving stream along the path, with many photo ops. The falls are definitely photogenic, especially a panorama....More

Don't know about the bus stop over, but when I was there I didn't see any storage lockers for luggage and the way things are set up there, it will be difficult to put the luggage anywhere

It is a very short walk from the parking lot to the falls...no steps. The walk is easy with only a slight incline. Don't go in the Winter though....lots of ice and snow.
