A good and easy to reach place (10 mins drive from city) with giant Budha and pagoda to one side of carvings. It is worth seeing but not in the same league as the Baoding carvings that are circa 10 km north.

While most visitors and especially large tour groups tend to give this a miss, we were really glad we stood our ground and visited. Due to the very few visitors, the place is extremely tranquil which makes viewing the smaller and finer carvings much more enjoyable. The fact that in an earlier era (the carvings here are older than Baodingshan) craftsmen have such sculpting skills using very basic tools is amazing.
