世界遺産の宝顶山石刻群の一部です。日本人にもお馴染みのお釈迦さまの涅槃の様子を彫刻したもので，全長約30ｍという長さがあり，宝顶山石刻群の中でも一番の人気スポットのようでした。

31メートルもの涅槃像ですが、現在修復中です。
とは言え、頭部は見られたので良しとしたいと思います。
頭部だけでも巨大です。
宝頂山石刻の遊歩道の一番奥（Jの字の一番底部な感じ）に在ります。
