It's basically a well preserved pagoda in the middle of town. Nice place to take a few photos and have a bite to eat since there were some interesting nearby restaurants.

Right in the centre of walled city, where north, west, east and south streets meet, alas, you can no longer enter the tower and climb for views, but it's still worth seeing as you stroll through the hectic busy streets. A great piece of architecture and worth seeing. Completely free of charge.

Cost is 5RMB per person, whether adult or child. Climb up the tower stairs to the 2nd level, and you can get a bit of a view over the city rooves. Interesting to see inside and around. But only worth a quick visit (5-10 mins). If you have kids, watch them carefully, as the railing around the 2nd level is very low.

It does take over most of the area of the ancient city. It towers over the city. It is nicely decorated.

The tower is near the centre of town. It’s on a busy street with lots of shops. It wasn’t possible to climb the tower when we were there.
The bank with the vault is just outside. A fairly good restaurant is also just nearby.
Good photo spot.

Just in the center of town this tower is seen from every spot . Closed to the public . Pagoda design with a few floors . Under it goes the most beautiful street of the old city .

Just another pagoda really. It marks the centre of the city and you can't miss it as you walk down Qing Ming street

This tower is in the centre of town and contributes to the old atmosphere in Pingyao. When I was there, it was closed for the public, but you can walk under it. It is on the mainstreet and you cannot miss it.

This old city surrounded with beautiful wall along with with Gushi Tower is the icon and most important witness of this beautiful town which has lost the essence of their authenticity as it has happened in many beautiful towns and villages of the world due to mass tourism , but there is still time
to lead it to a future artistic and conservative, that doesn't mean that the commercial step allow natural and elegant, because surplus to this ideal village art. At the foot of the Tower on the left and right by the stairs are located on both sides, two antique shops that sell real trifles of the old china, like a sculpture carved in wood by a group of Chinese children interlaced sculptural, playing to jump, beautiful scene of everyday life. On the other hand the Tower also indicates the geographical point of the village as a point of reference between alleys all equal and difficult to find.

This is the centre of the action so things are most vibrant here. Admire the architecture of the tower. Surely you will have to visit here.
