I had read the previous reviews on of Seaside Tours and contacted Mr Sothy.I posted the trip on the roll call for our recent cruise and approx 18 other passengers joined the trip aswell.Everything was managed very well.Communication beforehand with Mr Sothy was excellent.
At the chaotic port we were met by Mr Sothy and our delightful guide young Mr Sokhan,
As stated in previous posts Sihanoukville is not looking it,s best but the passion and the love that Mr Sokhan has for his country shines through.
We were brought to the local sights and had a coffee break and beautiful lunch with entertainment in the Don Bosco Hotel Training School.
During the bus ride Mr Sokhan told us a lot about the history and local customs of the area.We were particularly entertained with his stories about the custom of marriage dowries.
He also demonstrated he many uses of the scarf that he wore, and finished our trip by singing a local song.
We were so glad that we chose Seaside Tours and would recommend this company without hesitation.

My husband & I booked a city tour with Mr Sothy, the General Manager at Sihanouk Ville Seaside Tours, prior to arriving in Sihanouk Ville port.
We were so pleased to see our driver & guide holding up our names when we arrived at the gates outside the port. All other cruise passengers were hassled by taxi & rickshaw drivers, while we quietly got into our air conditioned van.
Our guide who spoke excellent English told us about the local area while showing us all the major sights including a children's school, the market, a fishing village & various temples. We also spent time swimming at the beach.
We had coffee & biscuits mid morning & then a very tasty lunch later in the day - both served at the Hospitality School.
Please be aware that Sihanouk Ville is not for the faint hearted. It is a building site which we really hope will be developed & completed in the near future as the local people we met are delightful & they deserve to see an improvement in their everyday lives.

We were here a few years ago and had a very nice time , so this time on another cruise with different friends I booked another tour with Mr Sothy . The booking went very easy and we talked to Mr Sothy which place s we sould be visiting this time .
There are very big changes in Sihanouk Ville over the last year or two and there is a lot of construction going on . But we had a other great day visiting some temples , the fishing port , the market and the waterfalls . In the morning we also visited a school where the young children welcomed us we than went to the Don Bosco school where young men and women are learning trades for construction or for the tourisme . In the afternoon we also had a veru nice lunch at the Sandan restaurant where streetkids are being taught by there teachers to work for a living instead of begging or falling by the wayside .
We had a very nice day and can highly recommend Mr Sothy and his guides to show you some of Cambodia .

We arrived by on a cruise and my husband booked a private tour of Sihanoukville and the surrounding area through Sihanoukville Seaside Tours as a full day City tour. We paid US dollars on the day of the tour renting a 12-passenger minivan with A/C and dedicated driver. Cold Towels and water were provided through the day, a delightful addition! Our tour guide was Mr. Sothy, a warm, engaging, knowledgeable guide with a love and pride for his country that he wished to share with us. Mr.Sothy speaks clear English, was very communicative and collaborative during the planning process. He and his driver were punctual, professional, and fun to be with. During our tour with Mr. Sothy we visited a fishing village.
The fishing village was vibrant! We walked the pier where the fishing boats arrive with their daily catch, observing the hard labor that is involved in this industry. Ice cutting and loading in the holds of boats that have seen many days on the water, men repairing nets and lines a constant job, transporting fish and shops filled with displays of the most unusual as well as familiar sea life…can’t get any fresher than this!
On to Wat Krom Pagoda and Independence Monument! We were honored to be blessed by the monk in the Krom Pagoda a moving experience and enjoyed our short stay at the Independence Monument. The highlight for our group was our visit to a local school’s 2nd grade class of children who were joyful and welcoming! The teacher wrote our names in Khmer and the children sang a song for us describing their preparation for the day. A touching visit. Mr. Sothy fit in a little shopping at the Phsar Leu local market for souvenirs and pursuing the local fare. On to the Wat Leu Pagoda on the top of the mountain to view the landscape and layout of the town. We did a drive by of the Preah Thorng Neang Neak round about to see the statue of the legendary of Cambodian wedding history and Khmer Can Do Sign. Lunch followed at the school where Mr. Sothy studied. This school trains young Cambodian students hoteling and restaurant service and management. The food is prepared and served by the students and lunch was followed by 3 lovely Apsara Dancers. This was a simple setting, but the food was plentiful and delicious!
We ended our day with Mr. Sothy and his great driver, having seen and learned so much! Our experience under his guidance will be with us always. Don’t sit on the ship! Get out and meet the people of a welcoming city!

This was my first visit to Cambodia and was very glad I organised this tour privately. We were a group of 6 arriving by Cruise ship. We had difficulty finding the meeting point at Port Gate 1, but it was no fault of Seaside tour. We were told that Gate 1 was closed and we could not walk to it, it seems there is a Mafia control of the port and the company the cruise line was using for Shuttles did not allow other people to go the the gate. Luckily there were other passengers which was asking for directions to Gate 1 and there was a small bus which could transfer us to Gate 1.

We were provided with our own minivan and a guide. We were taken to a fishing village, temple, morning tea, beach and lunch at Technical college then market. The roads in Sihanouk varies and this delayed us in reaching our destination quickly, some roads were just dirt tracks with lots of pot holes. The rain did not help either. The highlight was lunch at the college. If you can not take spicy food let Mr Sothy know as my parents found the entree too spicy to eat, but I found it delicious. We wanted to go back to the port early as the queue for the tender boats was very long so we missed going to a few places. Cambodia is an eye opener for us but this tour made me feel secure in visiting this country, visiting the college felt like a oasis. We learnt that the poorer children do not have any opportunities for an education so the Don Bosco school is doing a wonderful job in educating children. I would recommend going on this tour if visiting by cruise ship with the limited time you have there.

I was in Sihanoukville for a day on a Princess cruise and booked a tour with Mr Sothy. Eventually through Cruise Critic forums, the tour became a group of 30. It was no problem for Mr Sothy, as I added to the group he always responded quickly and assured me he would arrange for a larger vehicle.

I cannot speak highly enough about Mr Sothy's professionalism and responsiveness. We probably traded over 50 emails for a good 6 months prior to the tour. He and his wife Mom own the tour business and want to give back to the Cambodian community. The restaurant that he took us to (which everyone raved about - Sandan), helps train orphans and former street children in the hospitality field. The food was also absolutely delicious and was included in the tour. There was also a wonderful traditional dance show during lunch. That is one of the ways Sihanoukville Seaside tours gives back.

Our tour consisted of a visit to a fishing village which was a feast for the eyes, a couple of pagodas and temples, all very beautiful, the waterfall, a market and Otres Beach. It was a full day tour and everyone loved it and felt they had been able to get a glimpse of the real Cambodia. The heat is oppressive in Cambodia even in Jan, but we were constantly handed cold water bottles and ice towels to freshen up. They truly have thought of everything. If you are in Sihanoukville for just a day, do not hesitate to book with Mr. Sothy and his team. You will get to experience the real Cambodia, unlike the ship tours which cost more than 3 times what Mr. Sothy charges. We met folks on our cruise that booked with Princess at a whopping $169 per person and Mr. Sothy only charges $55 and that includes lunch!!!!

Lastly, I spoke with Mr Sothy at lunch extensively and it seems he can arrange tours in other parts of Cambodia. So if you plan on going to Angkor or Phnom Penh, ask him about arranging tours for you.

Thank you again Sihanoukville Seaside Tours team for a great day in Cambodia!!!!!!

I organised this day tour for our visit to Sihanoukville on board the Sapphire Princess. Sothy was waiting at the port gate just a short stroll from where the tenders docked and we were quickly shown our mini bus parked nearby. The vehicle had excellent air conditioning and was clean and comfortable. Our group of 14 - arranged through Cruise Critic - were not interested in the hustle of the markets so instead we drove through the country side to a beautiful waterfall spot, saw a pagoda or two, had some terrific views over the city, visited a local floating fishing village and went to a small clean well priced shop to buy Cambodian souvenirs.

Morning tea included fresh fruits and drinks as well as rice paper rolls and the restaurant was CLEAN and well run. Probably the cleanest toilets we saw in Asia! Lunch was beautiful - too much to eat actually and we were lucky enough to have a surprise traditional dance show by local teenagers which was the highlight of our trip.

Through out the day we were supplied with cold water and cool towels which were really appreciated as the day was hot!

Sothy himself speaks English very well and was able to give us a lot of useful information about life in Cambodia and the significance of the the things we saw. He is a well educated young man who loves his country as much as his beautiful fiancé!!!

All in all this was a fantastic day and worth every cent of the tour price. Sothy was flexible in the days plans in emails prior to the day and even on the day when we decided as a group to give the markets a miss - glad we did! well done Sothy - if we return to Sihanoukville we will most definately get you to organise all our tours!

We arrived by cruise ship and had pre-booked tour. We were so glad that we had. Sihanoukville is not an easy place to see alone. Mr & Mrs Sothy are a lovely young couple, both trained at Don Bosco school and keen to show their guests the best of the area. The minibus, guide, cold towels & water all made the trip very pleasant and interesting. Coffee & lunch at the school were great with traditional dancing for entertainment. We visited the fabulous market, fascinating fishermen’s village, Wat Krom pagoda, Independence monument, a lovely primary school, Otres beach. The development of the area by the Chinese is a disaster - miles upon miles of building sites and dusty roads. Everyone who took the official cruise tours said that they wished they’d stayed on the ship. We enjoyed our trip with Sihanoukville Seaside tours and would definitely recommend them.

Quite a lot of people from our cruise ship seemed to have booked this tour with Sothy (which we took as a good sign). We were in a lovely group of eight in a mini bus with an excellent english speaking guide and driver who took us on a great tour of Sihanoukville and the surrounding area. We visited a fishing village, the local market, a pagoda and a beautiful waterfall but the highlight of the day was a visit to Sandan Restaurant where orphans are trained in the hospitality business. We were served a lovely lunch by the youngsters followed by an excellent little cultural show. Cold towels and water were handed round our mini-bus all day. Email communication with Sothy was fast and efficient with no problems. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable day and a tour to be recommended.

I had organised a day tour with Mr Sothy before our cruise ship arrived, he was very promt in answering emails and no request was too difficult. Our tour was very good, visiting all the sites listed and we wern't hassled to hurry up. The highlight for me personally was the visit to Kbal Chhay Waterfall, there was plenty of water flowing over the falls and being a holiday for Chinese New Year, it was well populated with local families having a good day out, we saw how the locals like to celebrate and have fun. We were also given time to shop.
Another highlight was the food, morning tea and lunch was part of the tour cost and was at a local resturant that seeks to help Khemere youth learn the hospitality trade to be gainfully employed, the food and service was first class. As an added extra we had a local dance group perform three different Cambodian dances.
We were then taken back to our ship at the conclusion of our tour.
