Have done a lot of diving over 30 years and have been lucky enough to have dived in lots of beautiful locations. I was so excited to dive the islands off Koh Rong Sanloem as the visibility is reputedly excellent which it was for our 2 day trip, but it highlighted all the discarded fishing nets, bottles, beer cans and even spent dynamite cannisters lying around the coral heads, so upsetting to see such beautiful location being rapidly trashed. Not scuba Nations fault I realise but if they want to continue to attract divers action needs to be taken to remove rubbish and help restore the ecosystem which is struggling way too many sea urchins and crown of thorns compared with other sea life. Very few larger sized fish around no wonder given the fishing boats working the islands while we were diving there. Dive guides are doing a good job, the boat guy is working hard getting everyone's gear ready but I get the feeling the new owners are not as involved with ocean. Also the dive boat is getting pretty tired, needing some repairs many rusted through railings and hand holds.

Response from Scuba Nation I, Manager at Scuba Nation Diving Centre

Thank you very much for your review. Unfortunately we find more and more plastic waste around our dive sites. Because of that we are working hand in hand with enviromental orgainztions on regular marine conversation projects to remove garbage. Even with all the pollution from Sihanoukville and the development of the islands, we keep working to maintain a healthy marine enviroment and to protect the beauty of our reefs. Thank You for your concerns and suggestions.

I just came back from my overnight trip on the boat. The whole crew was super relaxed but organized at the same time. Our instructors, Amos and Cagdas (sry hope that's the right spelling), did an amazing job! The weather was perfect and the visibility in the ocean was great (40+ m). Just 30 min before we went on the boat I decided to do my advanced open water diver! One of the best decisions I've made since I've been out here, haha. It was a lot of fun and the variety of sealife was great. I enjoyed every single dive we did, but my hightlight was still the night dive. Not the cheapest dive center but it was more than worth it to spend a little bit more money. I would definitely choose them again! And btw the two local guys are amazing cooks. Safe dives! Cheers

had a top time on Koh Rong Sanloem at Scuba Nation - in my point of view the only one for diving even though more expensive than others. there is more than $ when it comes to diving. moreover I was surpries about the variety of the divespots. definitely better coming between December and March because of the rainseason

I did my Advanced course with Karen and loved every minute of it. She showed me heaps of tricks and things to think about even if some of them where not mandatory for the course. She made me feel safe through all my dives, and she is a blast above water aswell. I recommend this dive company to anyone how wants to feel more confident in water.

Traveled to Koh Tang with Max, Allison, and Sopheak, all dive instructors, all giving professional advice and very hospitable! This made the dives very orderly, efficient, and enjoyable! Another character was the boat, simple, but it was pleasant and homey. The fellow divers were a great bunch too. Koh Tang lived up to the hype of great visibility, but the overpopulation of sea urchins points to overfishing of its predators (triggerfishes and wrasses) and its competitors for algae (parrotfishes and rabbitfishes). If left unchecked, the sea urchins will consume the algae of the corals and will result in reef degradation. But, two thumbs up for Scuba Nation and sorry to hear that you guys will be closing!
