What an amazing experience we had with MRA! We camped for two nights in their clean, quiet campground, and the onsite hosts were friendly, always ready with ice/firewood available for purchase (at a price that was less than the cost for these items in town). We also did a full-day rafting trip on the Lower Kern. Our guide, Paige, made us feel comfortable and confident, while keeping the excitement and fun high. She reads the river so well, and gives such clear instructions, that she always had us in just the right spot to enjoy the rapids in an exhilarating manner. The lunch spread at mid-day was delicious, fresh and filling, and the whole river rafting experience is one we'll remember and return again for soon!

My family and I wandered into the Mountain River Adventures shop with a last-minute request to take a rafting trip that same day. We received great service and advice from the staff and managed to be on the water in just a few hours (it was midweek so we were lucky). Our amazing guide was Paul and our aid was Glen. Both were very professional and FUN! We felt safe at all times and had a great time. I would not hesitate to use MRA again, next time for even more challenging rapids.

Our guides, Colin and Paige, were very knowledgeable, funny, amazing cooks, and kept us safe! We were a family of six and took two boats...we had the guides and pretty much the river to ourselves since our trip was on a Monday-Tuesday. I would have given this a 5-star except that we had to wait about an hour to get picked up by the bus driver at the end. This was no fault of our guides--they were so great (and apologetic about the wait). It seems this had happened to them more than once, which is a shame on the company owners or whomever plans the timing of the pick-up. But other than that snag at the end, this trip was so fantastic! My family all had supreme fun and would do it again for sure...HUGE THANK YOU TO COLIN AND PAIGE!

Reed and Colin were great! They turned level 5 into LEVEL AWESOME! Probably the most epic trip I’ve done on the Kern. Next up with MRA — the Forks of Kern

We camped and rafted with Mountain and River Adventures. Both were a great experience! Every worker was friendly and helpful. The campground was clean and the lots were very spacious. If you are going in the summer, bring a canopy for your campsite as it is hot. Our river guides were amazing! We had so much fun on day one, that we went back on day two. And, they gave us a 25% discount second time around! If you are new to rafting, definitely do the double blitz. It was class I, II and III. It was very fun, very affordable, and not scary at all. The jump up to the class IV rapids on day two was much more intense and dangerous. We had a blast, but it is not for the weak hearted or those who cannot swim well.
