Love this place--30 min east of Santa Rosa. Everything from family friendly campground, easy of stimulating hikes/mountain biking. A real observatory that is open to the public for night viewing a few times a month. An ingenious feature--within its grounds is a replica of our...More

Want to let everyone know if you have a budding mt bike rider, the trails in this park are great. We started at the observatory parking lot. Good mix of packed gravel roads and some challenging creek crossings make this a great place to beginning...More

Hiked Bald Mountain (I think the hike was called the big loop) and enjoyed every second. It's $8 to park, but there are helpers everywhere to assist with questions as everyone is super helpful. Trails are well marked and well kept, we were really impressed....More

We at the campground for only one night, but we had a great experience. We had a nice private spot with a campfire, and the bathrooms are clean. In the morning we went on a lovely hike before ending up at superb winery. We will...More

I usually go during the week when it is always "quiet." there is good parking and it is a large park so I do not imagine it is ever "crowded". I went this week to see the waterfall...it was as beautiful as I remembered it....More

Thanks Phantom! Great pictures. Visitors can do the Canyon Trail / Ponygate Trail Loop - about 2 miles with a 500 foot elevation change to get in longer walk while seeing the waterfall.

Did a little ramble on an easy, well-marked trail here, enjoying birds, trees, meadows, and lovely views. The park offers a variety of experiences from easy to difficult hikes (we opted for an easy one, with little elevation gain), maps/descriptions offered at entrance and maps...More

Great location and many levels of trails to choose from. We liked the lower Bald Mountain trail to the Pony Gate/Canyon trail loop. Saw deer and beautiful redwoods all around!

Glad you had a good hike. A Sugarloaf hike is the best way to work up an appetite for our great Sonoma County food, wine and beer! And we have a number of great restaurants right down the hill in Kenwood.

We went to a "Funky Friday" concert. Tickets sell out fast, so purchase ahead. The band was great, and we enjoyed a picnic dinner.

We needed a little break from the tours and ran up the hill to take a walk. Very nice park with lots of trail choices for all levels. Take a couple hours and then back to wines or do it in the morning.

Nice little camp ground, each pitch has it's own pit for a fire and a picnic bench to eat at. A big open area in the middle gives you space to play games or relax. A little expensive for a Tent site but thats just...More

Yes. The dip limits the size of trailers that can get into the campground. About 28 foot rv and 24 foot trailer is the limit.
