Henry, the Owner was busy greeting everyone on the piazza, nestled between the market / wine tasting room and the winery. Everyone with whom we interacted was like family and some of them are. We signed up for a membership and are enjoying our first shipment. We enjoyed VJB so much we went to Henry's other winery the next day - Wellinton which is right down the road. The ambiance and wines are different but equally great. We even saw Henry there as well as a familiar face from the previous day at VJB'sHi there, First and foremost thank you for joining our family, and for writing us a review! I am happy to hear you enjoyed yourself at both properties and noticed the most important part of owning a business for me - hospitality! The wine was phenomenal, it was great to hear about the story beyond each varietal. Bo was very knowledgeable and attentive. We left VJB with a large order (all the logistics handled for us) plus several jars of homemade pasta sauce! The people and food were incredible....Garrett, Florencia and Mike made us feel like we were at a family dinner. Great wine and food, especially the wood fired pizza, the ribs and the incredible gelato!! So excited to receive our shipment this week. - Anita M51 contributionsDecent, Solid ChoiceThis was our second stop on the Sonoma wine trolley. The lunch provided here was really delicious! The gelato on site is also SO GOOD!! The wines were decent but Italian style wines aren't my always my favorite when they're a little lighter bodied. I still think the entire experience was enjoyable and the property was unique with a little courtyard type area with little entrances to different types of foods, wines, etc. There were also vines growing behind the property too!Thank you for your review! We hope you enjoyed your experience on the Wine Trolley, and are glad you go to stop by and see all we have to offer! Afterwards, we stayed for a wonderful lunch and visited the Cacina. It felt like a little bit of Italy. They have a great selection of meats, cheeses, and pasta. I visited several vineyards in Napa and Sonoma on this trip and thoroughly enjoyed this one. Maybe it was the beautiful architecture of the building and grounds, or the amazing brick oven pizza that we enjoyed for lunch...or maybe it was the gelato that proved to be the perfect sweet treat to round out our meal. It could have been the perfect Prosecco that kicked off our tasting (which I purchased) or the subsequent selection of 4 additional wines (2 of which I purchased). Whatever it was, it was perfect and was an awesome way to cap my trip. Oh...I also joined the VJB wine club...so there!

What can I say about this Vineyard. An amazing environment. Italian wines in Napa Valley Sonoma? Forget about it. Definitely delivers. We did not give it a five however. The food was amazing and the wind rocksolid. The service however from Bob who was giving us a wine tasting was not friendly at all. Almost antagonistic. Made such a turn off as the wood fires pizza and unique Italian wine focus wild have led to even more sales. A couple of us did however join the wine club. Staff and Service deliver excellence.. so I can only give Four or five. Maybe better next time - with someone different

The wines are great they the service is excellent but it is Hannah who gave us the personal touch. Her ability to pick wines that would be liked by our group of 8. Also asking questions before we had our first taste. Her knowledge of which wines to start with AJ’s always letting us know a bit about the wines and what to expect.
Leaving all of those things to the pro. (Hannah) in mind there is only one thing out of their control going with a “Good Group”. If your bases are covered before you leave your experience will be exceptional.

Visited this lovely place in June of 2022. Nice enough. Wine was pretty good. Little wine and was talked into joining the wine club. I received 2 shipments which were not inexpensive for the quality of the wine. Decided that was enough and called to cancel (per their cancellation policy)
Ended up on the phone for 20 minutes being strong-armed by Mike. He told me I had signed a contract and that this was a small family winery who counted on my money. He has a family to take care of. If I would just take 6 or 8 more bottles at a discounted rate, they'd allow me to cancel. Are you kidding me? REALLY BAD.
I'd stay clear of this place and most definitely the wine club. Needless to say, if they send anything else - they will be paying for it, not me.

At first the wine tasting was going amazing, we received better service since our group was signing up to join their wine club. After we joined their wine club, it's been awful. We went back a third time for a free tasting and the server was so rude. He wouldn't let us sample any wine unless we bought bottles for our table. I cancelled my wine club membership and I was still charged for shipments after I cancelled and they would not refund me. Every bottle of wine that we received in the wine shipments have contained complete grape skins. It's absolutely disgusting to drink wine and see clumps of grape skins being poured. Do not recommend. Go to Mayo Winery next door for better service, better wine and friendlier staff.

The wines here were really good but i was disappointed when i walked into a very loud/crowded patio area. One of the ladies in our group has a gluten allergy and we had been to Ledson Winery before hand and tasted several different wines and headed here for lunch and she was give 2 chicken skewers. Needless to say that wasn’t enough food they provided for her. I was expecting them to maybe have a gluten free crust or maybe more chicken. I booked the long table tasting expecting for our party of 12 to be able to sit together; this was not the case “due to COVID,” but a table not too far from us has 10 people at one table, didn’t make sense. It was more of a restaurant patio vibe then a winery vibe. We got no sort of history on the wines at all. If i new what this was going to be like i would’ve rather stayed or went to a different winery that gives you a real wine tasting experience, because of this we ended up going to a third winery that gave us a cave tour and all. I do understand all wineries are different but when i wine taste i expect a little more peace & quiet. I’ll have to try and see if it’s a better experience without Covid but this winery just wasn’t very personable sadly.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Our maximum table capacity currently is 10 guests so any groups larger, we have to split up. We do our very best to follow all Covid-19 guidelines given by the county and state while still trying to accommodate and take great care of all our guests.
As for your experience, it is my expectation that every group is given a fantastic tasting - with our educators showcasing their knowledge and passion for wines and telling our family story. I sincerely apologize that you were not given such experience. We have already shared your review with the team and discussed how we can continue to improve our group tasting experience. As for gluten free - we only have one kitchen and therefore we can only make our regular pizza crust. The chicken skewers are usually a huge hit and she should of also receive a salad with no croutons. Again, we have reviewed with our hospitality team to ensure a seamless experience!
We are a winery that prides itself on giving guests a fun, educational experience. Sometimes is a bit loud, especially with our tent - seems to echo a lot in there! But our focus is always making everyone feel welcome and wanting to come back for more wine, food and fun.

What a wonderful time we had a VJB Vineyard. First, my husband was like "I've never heard of this place", but he soon changed his mind. We arrived earlier than our reservation, but we're able to be seated right away. We went inside to order the most delicious pizza and salad, then went back to our table, where the wine just kept on coming. We enjoyed everything so much, that we actually joined one of the wine clubs. Oh, don't miss the gelato to top off your visit.

We were pleasantly surprised by the excellent wines we tasted at VJB Cellars. We love the Italian varietals they have to offer so much so we joined the wine club. Can't wait to go back and taste more soon.

I was looking for a new wine club to join that would be close to home. Four of us went to VJB. They were so friendly and welcoming from the phone call asking if we needed reservations, to the person who greeted us at the door to the tasting room employee.
We started with a single glass of wine and sharing paninis, to a full tasting when I joined the wine club.
I look forward to bringing friends and family to taste the wine.

We stopped by VJB for lunch and we’re glad we did. They have a great Italian cafe with very good pizza, salads, sandwiches and Italian specialty items like olive oil, pasta, and much more. And they have gelato. We enjoyed our pizza in the nice courtyard, had a great wine tasting and bought 2 bottles. It was a great visit and we will return on a future trip!

About how long does the typical Tasting Room tasting and the Piazza Tasting last? Trying to plan out our stops and I want to make sure that I allow enough time to enjoy each winery and not feel rushed.

Depending on the number of wines you sample and the amount of time you interact with everyone, I would estimate approximately one hour, maybe an hour and a half. Regardless, you will enjoy your time there.
