The Reserve Room is a revolutionary concept in a number of ways. In the first place, it's probably the first wine tasting room you've ever been in with chairs, tables and napkins. But more important, the RESERVE ROOM takes you on the ultimate wine country tasting journey unlike anything you've experienced in a wine tasting room before. Each guest takes a seat in our comfortable and intimate room where you can enjoy wine-inspired art, a little music and views of the hillside vineyards of Kenwood located just out our window. You are then treated to a seven-course pairing menu that includes seven Mayo Family Reserve wines crafted by Winemaker Michel Berthoud and seven tasting dishes created and prepared by Chef Max Porter-Elliott to compliment the seven wines. The Mayo Family RESERVE ROOM is our opportunity to take you further into the wine and food experience that defines Wine Country.

Been coming here for over 10 years, and Chef Sam Frumkin has taken this lunchtime tasting room to another level!Assisted by chef Sara, the pairings and presentation of the Mayo wines are served and explained to the visitor in a detailed and friendly manner. They can accommodate special diets if needed. Although the pairings with each of the Mayo wines... More

Had a delicious wine and food pairing at the Mayo Reserve Room with Chef Sam. He was a gracious host and so knowledgeable about both food and wine!

We sat at a table overlooking the mountains with grapevines in front of the building on a lovely fall afternoon. The wine was great and the food pairing was wonderful. Especially liked the chicken and corn chowder and the melon, cucumber and basil salad. The chef provided superb service and information about the winery and the wines. We will definitely... More

Drove from Napa to Sonoma for a pairing that was reserved a month before. We have been a customer of this winery and have enjoyed the pairings when they had a legitimate chef on site. For this pairing we drove from Napa to Sonoma and were told by the little dude in a chef's jacket (he looked to be all... More

We had a fantastic food and wine pairing at The Reserve Room of Mayo Family Winery. I can't say enough good about the blend of flavors in the 7 food and wine pairings that were beautifully presented with both professionalism and enthusiasm. Might I add for a great price. The setting isn't in some upscale winery but the small and... More

I planned an afternoon here, after reading Trip Advisor reviews. We were with a couple who had their own vineyard and were foodies like my husband and me. The building was very small, as I expected. I think it actually added to the charm and feel of finding a local secret spot! It was Sam who made the experience top-notch.... More

Food and wine were both delicious - absolutely do the food pairing! Sam Frumkin (the chef and host) was very welcoming and informative. Like many of the other reviews say, the setting isn't spectacular but the views are beautiful and the service/food/wine make up for anything the building lacks. We will definitely be back!!

The exterior of the Mayo Reserve Room is a little off-putting, but you'll be glad you came after you walk through the door and sample Chef Sam's food and the excellent wine. It was my birthday, so they even started everyone with sparkling wine. The food is small bites, but very good, and Sam is an excellent host. My wife,... More

We stayed nearby and this place was recommended. Would suggest their Reserve Zinfandel, Reserve Petite Sirah and the Brut. We did not join the wine club, but bought bottles to take home. The table next to us did a wine/food pairing which looked good, but we didn't have it. Would definitely stop here again.

We did a food and wine pairing here. The Chef (Sam Frumkin) was a wonderful host, provided excellent dishes and nice guidance through the wines. Our table looked out across the road over a local vineyard and rolling hills - nice view. We rated the atmosphere as ok because the room is on the sparsely decorated ground floor of an... More
