The Reserve Room is a revolutionary concept in a number of ways. In the first place, it's probably the first wine tasting room you've ever been in with chairs, tables and napkins. But more important, the RESERVE ROOM takes you on the ultimate wine country tasting journey unlike anything you've experienced in a wine tasting room before. Each guest takes a seat in our comfortable and intimate room where you can enjoy wine-inspired art, a little music and views of the hillside vineyards of Kenwood located just out our window. You are then treated to a seven-course pairing menu that includes seven Mayo Family Reserve wines crafted by Winemaker Michel Berthoud and seven tasting dishes created and prepared by Chef Max Porter-Elliott to compliment the seven wines. The Mayo Family RESERVE ROOM is our opportunity to take you further into the wine and food experience that defines Wine Country.

Food and wine were both delicious - absolutely do the food pairing! Sam Frumkin (the chef and host) was very welcoming and informative. Like many of the other reviews say, the setting isn't spectacular but the views are beautiful and the service/food/wine make up for anything the building lacks. We will definitely be back!!

The exterior of the Mayo Reserve Room is a little off-putting, but you'll be glad you came after you walk through the door and sample Chef Sam's food and the excellent wine. It was my birthday, so they even started everyone with sparkling wine. The food is small bites, but very good, and Sam is an excellent host. My wife,... More

We stayed nearby and this place was recommended. Would suggest their Reserve Zinfandel, Reserve Petite Sirah and the Brut. We did not join the wine club, but bought bottles to take home. The table next to us did a wine/food pairing which looked good, but we didn't have it. Would definitely stop here again.

We did a food and wine pairing here. The Chef (Sam Frumkin) was a wonderful host, provided excellent dishes and nice guidance through the wines. Our table looked out across the road over a local vineyard and rolling hills - nice view. We rated the atmosphere as ok because the room is on the sparsely decorated ground floor of an... More

I'd never done a wine and food pairing before. I'm pretty set on the wines I like and usually don't pair them with food so this was VERY educational as well as scrumptious! Also, Sam Frumpkin, the sommelier (and also a chef) was THE reason our experience was so awesome. He's an old soul at only 27 years and is... More

We enjoyed a great experience here. The place is intimate, the food was great. There were 7 different pairings of food and wine. The bites were all very good and the wines picked to pair with them were great. Sam waited on us, and he was informative and very friendly. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the winery,... More

I am no stranger to food and wine pairings living in sonoma. Mayo proved to live up to hype and Sam the chef and pourer was knowledgeable and friendly. The food was outstanding and obviously balanced with the wine. 6 menus a year will keep me coming back year around and give me the chance to bring family and friends.

From the moment we walked in Felicia treated us like family. Well, actually better than family because nobody in my family greets me with a flute of bubbly when I walk through the door! Felicia is extremely knowledgeable, relatable and funny to boot! The wines are paired superbly with each course of the tasting menu. Sara, the sous chef, did... More

The entire experience was amazing. We came early for the 11:00 seating and they let us sit and start sipping the wine. Samuel, the chef and wine purveyor extraordinaire, was our server. His knowledge of wine and food was impressive. HIs ability to put us and the other patrons at complete ease was amazing. Needless to say all was delicious... More
