Our family of four had a fantastic outing with Nelson. This was our first time climbing outdoors, after only 2 or 3 times climbing in a gym. Nelson was super friendly, very professional and knowledgeable, and made our boys (11 & 14) feel very comfortable. He pushed them just enough to push themselves and was a great coach for harder moves. Nelson was patient with our zillions of questions about climbing and Joshua Tree. We highly recommend an outing with Climbing Life.…

We had a great day with Matt in Joshua Tree. He was fantastic with the 2 kids (6 + 7) who had only climbed indoors previously. He was so calm and patient I could not imagine a better guide for our group.

Zack was an amazing guide! He has incredible knowledge of the park and was able to show us some of the classic routes in Joshua Tree. I was also able to learn some of the basics of anchor building and trad climbing with Zack. He was a great teacher and had seemingly endless knowledge about all facets of climbing. Zack was also really safety cautious which made me comfortable to push my limits climbing. 10/10 would recommend Zack and The Climbing Life Guides to anyone who is looking to have a great time climbing and learning in Joshua Tree.…

It was great! As a climber in a previous life it meant a lot for me to get my two boys up on a rock for the first time and Zack was the perfect person to do it. Sometimes a father can be seen as "telling them what to do"; Zack was the perfect instructor for them and I thoroughly enjoyed the way he interacted with them. They each got two climbs in and learned a little bit about Joshua Tree history in the process. My wife would tell you, if you were to ask her, that I was more excited to have them climb in Joshua Tree than they were. They loved it and the experience left them both wanting more.…

Booking was easy and all questions were answered quickly and efficiently via email. We met our guide Stephen at their office. It's very clean and organized. All the equipment, shoes, helmets, harnesses, ropes, etc. are well maintained and extremely clean. They take all the necessary COVID precautions. We followed our guide Stephen into the park. If possible, try and plan your climbing adventure as early in the day as possible during season, October through April, on weekends or holidays since there can be lines to drive into the park. We were a group of 3 women. We had all climbed in Joshua Tree before and were all at different skill levels. Stephen took us to a beautiful spot that had various routes that had a lot of different variety in skills needed. He was very patient and provided great instruction. He knew all the ins and outs of the routes which was very helpful. He was also very quick setting up the anchors and ropes. After we were finished, it was getting close to sunset so Stephen suggested we drive to Keys View to check it out and it did not disappoint. Keys View provides gorgeous 180 degree views of the Coachella Valley with the Salton Sea to the southeast and Mount San Jacinto towards the southwest with Palm Springs at it's base and all the cities in between. Overall such a great experience. We definitely would recommend booking with The Climbing Life Guides and look forward to our next trip. We all felt very safe and in good hands. My friend is planning on bringing her whole family out in the spring.…
