Stopped by after visiting Fort Ross, host was verging on rude extremely calculating on whom he wished to attend to. Highly focussed on how visitors found the winery and lacking on sense of humour. Unlike other tastings you have to buy 2 bottles to have the tasting fee waived. Wines were good but would recommend somewhere like Iron Horse for... More

It takes 10-15 minutes up a winding road to reach the winery. They have chardonnay and pinot noir for the most part for a $15 tasting fee. The wines are in the $45-60 range, though there are some more expensive reserves on offer as well. We found some whites crisp, while others buttery. Some of the pinots were sweet, not... More

Breathtaking view, fantastic host and very good wine! I believe we had Henry, we learned a lot from him that day. He is very well informed and very passionate about their product.

We detoured off Hwy. 1 to visit this winery, and it was well worth the trip. They have a beautiful tasting room with a large outdoor deck, where you're welcome to bring a picnic while you enjoy the wines. We liked everything we tasted (a Chard + 3 Pinots) and ended up purchasing two bottles, thus waiving the tasting fee.... More

Sitting high above the clouds on a long windy road is Fort Ross Vineyard. We actually turned around the first time because it was sooo foggy and had no clue where we were.Glad we tried again. A nice fellow explained the wines as he poured then ones we had chosen. He also had a list of places to eat afterwards!A nice deck... More

This is a bit out of the way - which, of course, is a large part of its appeal. Drive up a beautiful long, winding road - the drive itself is relaxing and brings you closer to nature. Many of the pictures here were taken before the plants were established - the gardens are lush and beautiful. Wander around -... More

Gorgeous view and very delicious Wines. You must check this place out when visiting the Sonoma Coast. Definitely a hit the jackpot in this spot. Very smart and educating staff member and just abeautiful place. Grapes spend a lot of time above the fog level at this high altitude giving them different characteristics from other wines in nearby areas.

I drove from Petaluma, up the coast road (Highway 1) to Jenner, and was so glad I did. The drive was stunning and although I was often in thick cloud, I emerged into the sunshine with beautiful views 5 mins from Fort Ross Vineyard. The Winery itself didn't disappoint. A lovely wooden building favoured with an amazing view, which I... More
