Hi, I was at Goat Rock Beach over Labor Day weekend. I’m not certain, but I believe we passed some folks carrying poles & other fishing gear. I asked what was biting, and the answer was ‘nothing’. So, I cannot say what to fish for. I’m sorry that I couldn’t be more help!
(There are several ‘pull-offs’ along the road, most have beach-access, many are fisherman-friendly). Good luck!
