This was one of the most awe-inspiring coastlines I have ever seen. Crashing waves, colorful rocks, sand and hiking trails with many entrances and routes to fit all levels of fitness.

At goat rock beach you can observe harbor seals resting on the beach. They are very relaxed, and sometimes come fairly close when they are swimming around. When we were there they even had several young ones in the group. Then there are hundreds of...More

What a nice stop. I took my shoes off and walked to the water. There were seals in the water and deer behind me. It was overcast but still nice.

There is much ample parking and goat rock is pretty but not the most beautiful lookout. We saw several deer, but there was a man parked blasting his radio. This totally ruined the experience for us. We did watch the sunset from here, that is...More

Goat Rock has to be one of my all time favorite beaches to visit. It even has a designated portion for dogs. I have visited different times of the year and it always brings an amazing peace.

This was a cool spot to stop at. Very windy but worth it. The only bad thing is that many people have drowned here.

Lovely place.... walk the beaches and see the Harbor Seals resting in the sand between the Pacific ocean and the Russian River. AM so glad we visited.

We visited both sides. South of Goat Rock was more protected on the day. The ocean waves, wind and spray was in invigorating but certainly not always safe for swimming nor walking by unattended or inexperienced young kids. My group was enchanted by the memorable...More

We were in the area, and stopped for the scenic views. We were rewarded with the trail down to the beach. As stated in previous reviews, this is the most dangerous beach in CA. (That’s kind of scary). So, beware, be careful, enjoy the beauty...More

Hi, I was at Goat Rock Beach over Labor Day weekend. I’m not certain, but I believe we passed some folks carrying poles & other fishing gear. I asked what was biting, and the answer was ‘nothing’. So, I cannot say what to... More
