Gold is where you find it

Gold makes you feel good. Better than catching that trophy fish! It is nice having a good fishing hole

Wanted to learn how to set my sluice box, learned how and more from Frying Pan Frank. Showed up late on Friday afternoon and stopped in to ask Bryant if I could go down to the creek and have someone show me how to properly set a sluice box up for sluicing. It was my lucky day as Frying Pan... More

Really enjoyed Brent's interest in our family connection to Hangtown and our great great great grandfather Solomon Gorgas journal if of his 1851 crossing. Frying pan Frank connected with our five kids really well and we dug in deep for our fly poop nuggets and enjoyed it immensely. More memorable than a day in Yosemite Valley!

Enjoyed gold panning with 60/4th graders. Solidified gold rush classroom learning through experiencing a real life adventure. 4th graders heard from the guides history about that region of CA. This was followed by a demonstration on how to and time to pan for gold themselves. They will remember the hands on experience for years to come.

Went prospecting the other day with my wife and my two boys 29 and 18. Fryin Pan Frank set us up with a hi-banker and we ran material through that thing for about 4 hours. Mr. Fryin Pan taught us about the history of the area in detail. He then showed us how to pan for gold and also gave... More

Frying Pan Frank was a great guide for our 10 year old twin boys and us! He knew all about the history and geology of the area, and knows just how to keep kids interested and engaged. Our 2 hour gold panning/sluice box adventure flew by and we wished we had more time. We found lots of gold flakes which... More

I have been bringing my fourth grade class every year for more than 15 years to gold pan with these wonderful prospectors. They are kind and patient teachers with a great deal of background in California Gold Rush history. Every year my students and our parent chaperones catch "gold fever" when they pan in the beautiful stream. Don't miss this... More

They bring the troughs, pans, and gold so students can have a go at panning for gold. They also put on a highly engaging presentation with authentic Gold Rush era artifacts. I highly recommend this company to schools that are studying the California Gold Rush!

Worked very hard shifting many buckets of dirt to find only a few specs of gold but it wasn't about finding a fortune in gold it was such fun and really connected us to the 1849 gold rushers. Nick and Frank were very knowledgeable and supportive Thanks

This trip was loads of fun. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the California Gold Rush, and how gold moves around to come out in the streams.
