Storymakery™ is the first self-publishing studio designed specifically for children, where kids create their very own personalized character, work one-on-one with a writer to create their own story, use our software to illustrate their book, and take home their own storybook! We offer a variety of experiences that aim to work with specific age groups ranging from 3 to 13 years of age. Storymakery offers fun-filled birthday parties and have been featured by CBS LA as "Best Places to Throw a Children's Party in Orange County". You can now throw your child the best birthday party that is interactive, fun, and unique. We also offer scout events, field trips, workshops, and other exciting monthly events for the whole family such as Treasure Hunts and Author Workshops. Our Young Author Camps are also the first creative writing camps that not only teach the foundation of plot development but also allow kids to publish their own book series. These programs extend your child's creativity, writing, self-expression & cognitive thinking with a unique approach. Our goal is to show just how fun creative writing can be and to stimulate kids' imagination!

$35 for a 2 hour drop off event - my daughter loved it! There were 3 staff and 6 children at the event we attended. They created a character, wrote a story, and had a treasure hunt in the store. Each child left the event with a color poster with their character, a toy, and candy from the treasure hunt. They said the printed book would be ready in 3 days for pickup. We'll definitely go back!

Great place for kids. I brought my daughter here to publish her book that she wrote at home. She's only 8 years old and her book was long. We needed to purchase two books because their book can only fit so many characters. I ended up having to pay for $20.00 for someone to help us type it up. We needed help with editing a lot of words because their software can only fit a certain amount in. While we were there they had a birthday party and then a holiday event. It looked like fun. I ended buying a Years membership for $25. This is a great place for imaginative kids to strengthen their writing skills and let their imagination come to life.

staff was fantastic. my 6 year old had the best time and the result was incredible. going to have her bday party here.

I signed my son up for a week for this coming summer. I also convinced my sister to sign her two kids up as well. Due to a family emergency we have to cancel our orders. We reached out to customer service and after 2 emails I finally received a reply from the owner. She said that their refund policy says there are no refunds but I can get store credit and attend another time.
Not only am I requesting a refund over 2 months out but NO WHERE during the ordering process does the website say this so called refund policy. The only refund information on there is about returning actual books created/purchased. I replied back and told the owner about my reasons for canceling and asked if she could issue the refund due to my circumstances but I haven't heard back.
In this day and age how could you have such an absurd alleged refund policy that is not listed on the site nor is good business practice in general. Customer service should always come first. This is ridiculous.

My daughter has been to two of the Storymakery summer camps and has SUCH a great time! We love that she gets exposed to fundamentals of storytelling, plus she gets a lovely keepsake at the end... in the form of their own book!

We took my daughter and niece as a gift from their grandmother. The time spent with each girl to make their book was amazing. We can’t wait to see the final product.

When my daughter turned 4 we had her birthday at Storymakery and since then we now have a tradition of a mommy and daughter date with both of my daughters on their birthdays. We all look forward to it and it's so wonderful to have a keepsake in the form of a published book that they helped to write!

Staff was nice, but they didn't explain the process well. They didn't let us look over the book before they closed up the order. Come to find out, it had errors. We didn't know that we would have to go back to pick it up or pay for shipping. It was anti-climatic because we didn't get to see the product in any form that day. It was a lot of money for the deluxe package and it didn't seem deluxe at all. The t-shirt was extra and we had to wait for that to be mailed too. Also, why don't they have stuffed animals that match the story? All in all, just a mediocre experience.

I'm sorry to hear that you didn't have an experience that was anything less than stellar. We really enjoyed working with your children on the stories and recall their stories being super creative and cute. Because our story writing and review process is not automated, the experiences come with a guarantee. This means we will replace and fix your book anytime if you find an issue. I'm sorry the turnaround expectations (which include book reviews and binding) was not clearly communicated to you. We can always expedite upon request. Because the characters are designed on-demand by the children, it is nearly impossible to carrying matching plush toys. My apologies again - I will reach out to you via email.
