This was one of the best shooting places I have been to in years. The food was super, the people were great and the area was outstanding. There are three sporting clay shooting ranges and everyone of them is a different challenge. I took my grandsons there with me and they had the time of their lives. They had never shot this type of clay before, but they are now confirmed sporting clay shooters. Safety was a premium there, as it should be. The folks who run it are knowledgeable and helpful. …

Have heard alot about how nice the club house is and about the three courses. Shot the white course and 5 of the 13 stations had machines that did not work. I will not go back when I was forced to pay for the rounds when I could not complete them. Bad customer relations and a bad experiance. Roads are washed out and walking is slippery.…

We went to the Camanche Hills Hunting Preserve to try our hand at 'clay trap' shooting, something we had never done before. We had a very enjoyable time. The staff was very accommodating, extremely friendly and supportive. Having never attempted anything like this before, I was terrible at it, but they were not satisfied to say "Oh well, tough luck." They wanted to make sure I hit something and had a good time. They went so far as to have the gunsmith come out and check things out to find out why I was having problems. Sure enough he said the shotguns we were using were not the correct size for me and took one and adjusted it so that it would work for me and then he spent time with me helping me be able to shoot something; and not just a 'token' one hit and "Yea, you hit it", we're done. He made sure I was able to do it several times before we finished. It was an enjoyable day and we talked about setting up another day in the near future. Larry the owner was super nice and made sure we had a good time. He welcomed us like old friends instead of 'one time' visitors. All in all, a very nice experience. They have 3 'trap' courses with various ways to test your skills, from flying clay discs (pigeons) to rolling ones (rats), to hopping ones (rabbits). There is a club house with a cafe for breakfast or lunch, picnic tables to bring your own, guns and carts to rent if you don't have your own equipment and don't want to walk the courses, etc. It is a fun place to go for sport shooting. Fee is $38/per person…
