One of the owners and wine maker, Andrew, was our server. He was obviously very knowledgeable about the wines. Some unusual varietals including mission (which we had not heard of), sangiovese, tempranillo and petite sirah. The winery offered a chocolate pairing for the reds.

We had an AMAZING time at Tanis. It’s off the beaten path in Amador County, but worth it. Andy is wonderful and obviously pours his soul into his wines. My SO is the wine aficionado of the two of us, and he was very impressed. You won’t see Tanis serving mostly 2016-18 wines -

Tanis is well worth the slight detour off the beaten track. We found the red wines to be outstanding! Full-bodied, soft tannins, and very distinct tastes and aromas per varietal. There are many family-run wineries in this area, but unfortunately many are still trying to find

The proprietors of Convergence recommended Tanis to us so of course we had to stop by. Andrew AKA AWESOME met us in the tasting room and we a had a nice tasting experience. Andrew is not only a wine maker but he likes to cook too. So he has lots of oils and spices to try
