My colleague told me to try Date Shake at Palm Spring. I searched the internet and found this place. A lot of free date samples, delicious date bread. The free movie was very interesting and educational. The date shake was OK. Very thick and the date crystals are at the bottom. At least I have tried once, that is enough... More

Love the theater and movie "Sex Life of a Date" or something to that effect made by Mr Shields sometime back in the 50s I believe but you'll find out yourself. It's old and a tiny tattered but loved and cared for with lots of free samples of date breads and dates that are very interesting and worth a try... More

This is a great place to learn about the history and process of growing dates. The film is dated but interesting and you can choose from dozens of samples of not only dates, but other interesting snacks as well (the beet chips were surprisingly delicious). If you're looking for fresh medjool dates, we found this place to be a bit... More

We first listened to the video presentation (about 10 min.) and learned about the family that started the farm and just how much labor is involved in growing and harvesting dates. We spent some time in the gift store and tried some samples (Yumm), and made a small purchase. We then paid $5 each to take the walking tour in... More

The shakes are amazing. Share it with a few friends. Show is interesting and the store and restaurant are very good. The walk is interesting and enjoyable specially for Christians. Easy to find

My niece was in town and wanted a date shake. For $4.75 you get a huge one here that is wonderful and hard to finish. They must have 30 different date treats available, free for the tasting, in this store. There is also a great gift shop where you can find last minute gifts that are unique. If you want... More

My husband and I made this our first stop, to go and taste the Date Shake, but when we saw the great menu items and drinks we decided to eat at the restaurant. The food was amazing, the server was very sweet and helpful. After the meal we shopped at the shields Store where they had a variety of dates,... More

We have visited Shields Date Farm on numerous occasions. They have lots of dates and date products We like their date shakes. We have also dined at their cafe. The palm trees are also pretty to see.

Kind of a corny place. I would not recommend unless you are over 80 and don't get out much. There is a short film show about the history of Shields and how dates are grown and cultivated which was interesting. Good place to buy dates but much of the gift shop had nothing to do with dates and kind of... More

This is a nice place to visit. There are lots and lots of interesting souvenirs and gift ideas. A variety of dates are available for tasting. Who knew there were so many varieties of dates. There is also a garden area for touring on the grounds.
