So far this is hands down one of my favorite California beaches to go to. I live about 15 minutes away but this beach has so many options for parking. Lately I’ve been going Saturday mornings to the area with the volleyball nets and there are always people playing. Plenty of street parking and lots available for hourly pay. I’ve gone at night to the fire pit area pay a few bucks to park and you’re set for a sunset. What I also like around this beach is the food options. You have a stretch of restaurants and also pacific city with lots to do and eat around there. All in all the beach is clean and plenty of space to just lay and chill.

Love that it is a short drive from Disneyland without getting on those crazy California freeways. We have been to the city beach in Huntington which is also great, but the state beach felt less touristy and a little more natural. It is huge so you will have plenty of room to spread out. The beach is clean and well maintained, and the city itself is a lovely little town. Our trips to the OC are never complete without a little beach time. It is the Pacific, so be prepared for chilly water no matter the season.

The beach was of course very empty because it was a chilly day in January. It’s a large beach but the view of the oil rig or whatever it is that’s out there really ruins it for me. There were some surfers, but more of them were at Seal Beach on this particular day. There are quite a few homeless people wandering around. The playground was really cute. Parking is metered on the streets. It’s a bit of a walk down to the water from the street. It was still a nice visit.

There were people fishing off the pier, kids on inter tubes in the water, teens taking pictures, people tanning, people jogging, picnics, some were under tents to block out some of the sun, older couples walking on pier. No trash on the beach. Lifeguard present. Seemed very safe. We got there late in day and signs said parking lot was full, but we did find a spot. You have to pay for parking by the hour, but it was less than $5.

Great beach close to Disney. Large wide open and flat beach perfect for families and friends! Had fire pits, volleyball nets and bike rentals. Nice paved walkway to bike, walk and rollerblade. There is even a handicap access point to get from the walkway to the waters edge. Public restrooms and ample parking even RV hookup spots. Some homeless hanging around but didn’t feel unsafe.

We went for an early morning walk by the beach. Park or city staff were out cleaning and leveling the beautiful beach sands for another great sunny day at Huntington Beach. Great, long beach, with beautiful beach sand, and water were at places you can walk out into the water for 40 or more yards

Gone are the days that we could go to this beach at night and camp out. Now activities are very restricted. It is still a fun place, but now, very, very crowded and a favourite of many. It is my favourite beach in the USA.

Gone are the days that we could go to this beach at night and camp out. Now activities are very restricted. It is still a fun place, but now, very, very crowded for about seven months of the year. It is my favourite beach in the USA.

The beach stretched for at least a couple of miles of white sand with joggers, cyclists and surfers with plenty of room to stretch out catching gleaming clean waves in the morning sunshine. The sea views were slightly spoiled by the sight of 4 oil rigs in the sea. We paid out $2 in coins at the parking meter and walked along the beach path up to the naff pier where the hobos hung out and the toilets stank worse than most this whole global trip.

It's a dirty beach covered with cigarettes and trash. The atmosphere is often threatening of physical harm. Go to another beach.
