Anytime we go to the beach in HB, this is the beach we choose. Whether it's just for a few hours during the day, for the two of us or with our grandkids, or for a beach party complete with cooking hotdogs over wood in the fire pits, this is a great beach!! Lots of parking--$15.00 for the day--and walkways... More

Because I live near this beach. it's super convenient to visit. The bike trail will take you right to the sand, without having to cross busy PCH. The farther you are from the pier, its less crowded, so the state beach is easier to get in and out of. There are fire pits too!

Wonderful beach. People watching is great, from old couples to beach volleyball. Parking can be a hassle near the pier, but biking our parking away from pier didn't present problems

I've lived of PCH and Mag my whole life. The State Beach is my second home. It's clean, fun, and not nearly as crowded as City Beach. The multipurpose path (the strand) is great for walkers, joggers, runners, bikes, roller blades, tourists and locals. If you don't mind walking a little, there is free parking if you don't plan to... Avoid parking hassles completely by grabbing a beach cruiser and pedal all the way up and down the park. Saves hassle, great exercise, and an amazing way to see it all.

Newport Beach is lovely Redondo Beach is lovely But this part in the middle, with oil rigs dotting the horizon to the West is not lovely. Add to that $15 Parking charge at the state beaches and it is easy to see why the parking lots were so empty - at 1pm in the middle of a Summers Day.

Live love and go to this beach... It has great waves and a great pier. Not great with parking but it's okay.

There are several different beach areas to visit in Huntington Beach. Furthest North is Bolsa Chica State Beach -$15 to park, fire pits, restrooms, restaurants Next is City Beach and Dog Beach. There is a different pass for City. Some of the parking is metered and some is pay for day. The pier area is in this stretch From Beach... More

Our 3rd beach this trip...little kids wanted to find shells...this place had them....great waves, $15 parking, showers everywhere, lifeguards galore, big waves, wide beach, lots of room for everyone! Great stop and great memories... One of the best places if you want a lot of people, fun and loads of sand!

This is a happy family friendly beach. Surfing of all levels by day and fire-pits in the evening. Fun, friendly and lots of facilities and amenities. Loads of hire places for bikes and board and lots of eateries. Plenty of parking and wash facilities.
