I visit a few times a month for a pleasant walk. Places to check out: the lake, the Park Restaurant, the Central library, the numerous athletic fields, the workout trail. Take pictures or just enjoy the grove of trees. And the Secret Garden...
My dogs' most favorite walk. Its a big loop walk in a giant park with lots of very green lush areas to run around in. A few large ponds, nooks, breakfast cafes, events (our favorite is the Hawaiian festival), weddings, concerts at the amphiteathre, Easter...More
This huge park offers a place to walk, jog or sit and enjoy nature - the green grass, the trees, the lake with birds (ducks, coots, geese, egrets and whatever else that stops for a glide or a drink). Over 300 acres with restrooms, a...More
I walk here periodically. It is a good nature park with a loop walk ability. There are some birds, ducks, and squirrels. You can cross street to make it longer and look Lake Park. It is usually not too busy.

While I was walking through Central Park near Slater and Gothard I became afraid. There were coyotes or some other wild animal ( feral dogs?)that were rustling in the bushes. I’m not going this route again it’s not safe
Central Park offers peace and a really nice place to picnic. Play football with your kids, go for a jog or just walk the dog, They also support the Re-inaction of the Civil War days, along with other holiday specialties.
Great place to run, walk, or take your kids or dogs. Lots of paved trails, open grassy areas, and large, old trees. Pre-dawn, look out for wild rabbits and skunks. There are bathrooms and a restaurant on site and a few different free parking lots.
