Cougars were hissing because the cages were to small. The hooves on the girraffs and mules needed to be cut immediately, come on you guys. Don't be surprised if a bus full of demonstrators show up....

Little zoo with a big heart

Every type of Lemur is now officially on the endangered species list and they have a beautiful zoo with many lemurs. The kids love feeding them bananas and it’s not as big as the big city zoo’s but this one has all the big animals and a big heart

Terrible, Very Cruel!
Aug 2020
I am not an animal activist but I was absolutely appalled by the sizes of the cages - the tiger cage is smaller than my living room. The lion, tiger and cougar cages are minuscule. To have these beautiful animals in such tiny spaces where they can't run is brutal. They have an exotic bird cage that is so small the birds can't even fly! for goodness sake! I understand that the cages are tiny so people can see the animals but it isn't right. I am disappointed that I contributed towards this cruelty by paying for a ticket. Please boycott this place.

Perfect for young kids

Very cute and clean. Reasonably priced. Perfect size zoo if you have little kids- takes about 2 hours to walk around. You have the option to buy feed $7/bag- this could be used to feed the monkeys, giraffes etc. Kids loved this!

Highly reccomend!!

Well maintained, lots of animals, clean and easy to navigate. Small playground close to picnic tables and washrooms with change stations.

Perfect for families with young children (very stroller/ wagon accessible), with interactive stations and lots of room to view animals. Easy to go at your own pace. Can't speak to the busy season, but the off season (visited Sept 2019) was wonderful- quiet, kids had a chance to get close to the giraffes, baby lemurs, goats and deer.

Very relaxed, easy to navigate and go at whatever pace you want/ need. Visited with two adults and two small children and everyone enjoyed themselves. Highlight was definitely feeding the giraffe and petting a baby lemur.

Awesome zoo for this area!
Sep 2019
Elmvale is a small town - so neat to have a zoo this good in it.

I have been to this zoo so many times I know it like the back of my hand. It is incredible. Reasonable admission fee.
Easy directions to follow to get to the animal exhibits.
Park and picnic area.
Open area for animal shows that are always happening, and offer the ability to touch the animals.
Lots of animals to see. Lions, tigers, monkeys, gorillas, giraffes, zebras, porcupines, bigs, snakes, camels, llams, buffalos etc.
They allow you to feed the monkeys bananas, and feed the giraffes as well.
Lots to see, and enjoy. Large gift shop for souvenirs.

Nice little zoo

We checked this zoo out on our holidays. We were quite surprised at the variety of animals they had. Tigers, lions, giraffes, cougars. And lots more. It is laid out amongst the trees with lots of shade. It was a hot day so being in the shade was a bonus. Lots of good information on all the cages. We likely spent 3-4 hours here. Good place for the kids.

Loved our visit to this zoo. Animals seem well looked after, feeding the giraffes was a highlight along with the organised talk showing the animals close up.

Awesome zoo for younger children. The size of the zoo is smallish, and you only need to spend a couple of hours there to see it all. There are animal shows every couple of hours that are fun and informative to see. Lots of cool animals including the big cats, giraffes, and a place to go in and interact with goats. Bring some change so that you can feed the giraffes, goats, and fish. The lemurs really like bananas if you get there early enough and they’re hungry. The baby lemurs come right out of the enclosure to take them from you! There is a snack bar that has burgers/fries, ice cream etc. Nothing too healthy, so I would probably pack a lunch if you’re looking for that. The gift shop has some really cute gifts that your kids will likely beg you for. If you go online you can get coupons that will save you two bucks off a ticket. I think you have to have these coupons printed though, can’t just show it from your phone.
