This would have been a good experience. However, when Russian River Adventures drove my car to where the canoe trip ends, they returned my car with a cracked windshield. There was no crack in it when I handed it over to them, but there was when I picked it up. They assumed no responsibility for the damage, not even willing to share a partial cost after I made the offer to pay half the cost. So beware: this fun trip may come with a costly liability.

It was a great time of laughs and feelings of accomplishment. We had my family of 4 with our dog in 2 canoes. We found out that he loves the water too. We rented him a life jacket so he would not get too tired from swimming. The river was clear and felt amazing on the 90 degree day . You know kids and dogs when we would take a break I would get a turn with someone different . The last 3 miles were not easy but we did make it. I had my 9 year old so we really had to use arm strength to move that inflatable canoe. We got super excited to see that bridge. It was hot and we were both tired but we made it and still with a smile on our faces. I highly recommend this group. They instruct you and then send you on your way and meet you at the pick up spot. We had a great time and would definitely do it again.

Beautiful day on the river, though l-o-n-g day for 3 adults and 6 kids 12 and under. I made it 30+ minutes ahead of my wife and sister in law, and Joe graciously offered to paddle upstream to tow both boats back. #rockstar

Warning: This is a 9 mile trip down the Russian River with the last 3 miles without no current at all/ dead water, so you really have to paddle hard in these SOAR inflatable kayaks which are very difficult to maneuver. First 2.5 hours was fun where you can stop by sand bars/ beaches and enjoy the water/ eat/ take breaks...but the last 2 hours was hell coz your arms are like jello by this time and you want to get to the finish line asap...regular kayaks would have been easier than these inflatable ones....if it were a 5 mile trip it would been better and more fun...

I had high hopes for a river adventure with my family. I had done a similar activity a few years ago (different company) as a part of a wedding group, so I was somewhat familiar with the river and what to expect from such an excursion. What I found first was an extremely RUDE and condescending shuttle driver (I’m sorry that your childhood resulted in you being a patronizing misogynist) who practically ruined my trip before I even got in the canoe. He flew through the hillside all while trying to follow him in unfamiliar territory in my own car. Meanwhile, back at the check in, the rest of the group, including employees, left my family member by herself without direction on what to do or where to go to meet me. We were both quite distressed before we even got to the launch. I get that we are in partial wilderness, but everything was covered in spiders and somewhat dirty (yes even in the COVID times). This may be an adequate “adventure” for those you thrive on DIY activities, or do not mind extreme disorganization and disrespectful attitudes. I absolutely do not recommend this business if you value quality and being treated like a human being. Stick to the wineries or pool... or pretty much anything else.
