This museum had a wonderful small town overview dating from the founding in the mid-19th Century. Lots of old photos. Esy to see in an hour and provides good back ground for touring later.

This museum is housed in an old Carnegie Library and has an interesting collection in the basement floor about the fruit canning business that was important there in the 1800's. There is an elevator and upstairs we saw an outstanding exhibit on Indigenous people from Healdsburg area and outstanding baskets and beading on loan from the Hearst Collection in Berkeley. Well worth a visit!

Museum was closed but we got a map from visitor information and looked around some of the historic buildings with this guide: http://www.healdsburg.com/PDFs/HistoricHomesBook.pdf.
Really fascinating way to learn about the families who developed the area and their entrepreneurial and civic spirit - highly recommended.

If you have the time, take a trip inside and look at where Healdsburg grew from to what it is today. A very nice staff to assist. (This used to be the old Healdsburg Library) - close to downtown, about 1 block from the main square.

This is a small community based museum set in a carnagie library building. It is good for a quick visit with some permanent exhibits on history of Healdsburg and usually one special exhibit also. A nice break from wine tasting

This is a small museum and they change the exhibits often enough to keep it interesting. Recently there was an exhibit dedicated to Hollywood actors who have resided in the area, focusing on Fred MacMurry. There have also been exhibits on the local Pomo tribes, the Bear Flag Revolt, Prohibition and many others,

Located on a quiet out of the way street in a historic building, this museum has many items donated by locals to tell the story of an early Healdsburg that transformed from plum orchards to vineyards - how the city was built and how it came to be as it is today. Well worth the time to see - even if you just breeze through. Located relatively close to the square so you could take a walk to see it if you like.

Very interesting artifacts with the background of families responsible for settling the areas. Great value on a T-shirt with a beautiful H logo for only $15. Good deal. Excellent volunteer docent. Love her. Ask her about her hero father who was a marine and mayor.
