Our driver booked us into Bella Vineyards at the end of a day of wine tasting in Sonoma. We didn’t know what to expect since it isn’t one of the well know vineyards. The experience was excellent in all respects. It was relaxed and laid back, not with pressure to taste and buy that we experienced in other vineyards/wineries. Our guide Andrew was down to earth and informative. Most importantly, the wines were top notch, especially the Zinfandels. Coming from the East Coast, it’s hard to get great Zins. Most are mass produced. Bella’s Zins show the best complexity and diversity of the varietal without being overly ripe and jammy. As a bonus, they were bringing in a load of grapes and we could watch them sort and de-stem right there in front of the cave. And by the way, the cave has a great ambience to do the tasting. It was a personal, private and totally satisfying experience. Well done Bella!! And by the way, we signed up for their wine club, which we’ve never done before.

Ended up with our own private tour of the caves and bombarded our tour guide (Alex?) with lots of questions. He did a great job answering questions based on our wine knowledge level and shared his personal experiences. He went above and beyond and gave us many restaurant/bar recommendations in the area! Had some samples in the cave and finished up our tasting outdoors with live music playing. Wonderful day, one of our favorite stops on our trip!

it's our 40th anniversary and we wanted to do a little COVID safe getaway. We reserved the "Hike the Hill" at 1045am. Spent about 40 minutes walking up the vineyards to a redwood grove with beautiful views of the valley. When we returned we enjoyed a wonderful box of goodies and 5 delicious wines to taste( plus a surprise Ice Cream sandwich paired with a late zin dessert wine) It was $40 per person and we felt it was worth it. Alex and Garret and all of the hosts were very nice. The setting is gorgeous and the tables were well spaced apart. It was fun to buy their delicious Sauvignon blanc in a growler to give as a gift to friends. Their Pinot and Zins are very good! We highly recommend Bella!

Ironically because of covid the tasting which normally would have been in the cave was held outside. This worked out well because that made the tasting that much better. The grounds are awe inspiring. Surrounded by olive trees and overlooking a very scenic view with the weather nice it was a great experience. The wine was really good. We ended up getting 14 bottles and they capped the visit with a ice cream sandwich which my companions loved. Take extra time to walk up the hill and soak in the view from up high its worth it.

We didn't have reservations here, but I'd heard good things. It was crowded when we got there, without much parking. I didn't know it was an event weekend. If we were looking for a fun tasting at a place we knew the wine it would have been fun, but as we really wanted to talk to someone about the wine this wasn't the time. The wine was perfectly fine, one of them stood out.
Despite this, it was an interesting wine and cheese and chocolate tasting, but not the experience we were looking for.

We have been wine club members here for about 3 years, and couldn't be happier as both the wine and the staff there are exceptional. We were there in January mid-week and no crowds, which was perfect, as Laura gave us a nice tour of the caves. The Zinfandel's are truly amazing!!!! Give this winery a try, you won't be disappointed.

This was my second trip to Bella & I’ll always go back. We had an outdoor tasting in Adirondack chairs under beautiful olive trees - the setting is one of the most beautiful in Sonoma. The wine is delicious, the staff are knowledgeable & friendly, and the place just exudes charm. Zins are fantastic, they often have music on weekends (nice & unobtrusive) and they do pizzas or charcuterie on the weekend with the tastings. This is a must visit place!!!

We did a wine tasting with charcuterie box, sitting outside on the front lawn. It was lovely. The wine was fine (nothing special), but we were there for the experience and we weren’t disappointed. In addition to our wine tasting, we were able to watch the workers harvesting and the caves were open as well. There is a short hike that is optional that we didn’t do.

The novelty of the cave and the story of its construction is interesting and is definitely an attraction. My wife and I both felt the wines we sampled were not noteworthy but in fairness we had just come from two very established wineries before Bella.

A hidden gem of a winery off the beaten track. There are two Dry Creek Roads, the regular one (that heads out to Ferrari-Carano vineyard), and West Dry Creek Road. The west road has some superior hidden gems of wineries. You just need a good map to find them.

Bella is up in the hill along the western portion of West Drycreek Road. Come across the Lambert Bridge, turn right, and to about 2.5 miles. Turn left, up the hill, and you are there.

The tasting room is in one of their more modern caves (not dug by the Chinese after the transcontinental railroad). It is spacious and vey nice and cool for wine tasting. They have their wine shop and tasting area in the cave. You walk back to the tasting area, and take your place.

Very friendly pouring staff. Lot's of knowledge about the grape and wine. I was floored at the high quality of the wine. Of course, they are in Dry Creek Valley, the king of zin. No exception here. Several types of zinfandel were simply rocking my companion and I. Great, rich, complex. nice nose, and the long lasting tasty finish.

Great place, great people and great wine. Make it a stop along your Dry Creek area exploration. You'll be glad you did!
