This Appointment Only wine tasting is well worth the stop as the views of the vineyard and surrounding area are just spectacular. The tasting room is located in the barrel room and the fourth generation owners make you feel right at home as you sample their cabs and zins. It is truly a family business that will be popular for... More

Love this this place unfortunately all the Cab's sold out but the Zin & Merlot were fantastic they even gave us some free olive oil definitely would recommend you stop by but if you want some Cab's I was told they release them in May... don't be late like me.

This family winery is set on beautiful land, with a lovely grocery garden and seating area that looks out onto the vines. Not surprisingly, the reds are delicious, reflecting the planning and hard work that comes from four generations of effort. Our tasting was conducted with great detail. A most memorable stop in Sonoma!

Maybe this is not appropriate as I last visited about three years ago. That visit was very memorable. I live in Oregon and rarely get to Sonoma area. The wines we tasted were BIG and beautiful...both the cabs and the zin. I am fortunate to be on the mailing list and order every year...the only way to get their wine.

I enjoy wine. Whether its Gruner Veltliner in Austria, The Devil's Red Rhine River, the big, complex Turley Zins of Paso Robles, or the consistent excellence of Rafanelli Zins, Cabs, or Merlot. Along with my wine friend and, dare I say, expert, four of us make an annual wine trip. The past two years we've been surprised at the quality and... More

We've been Rafanelli fans for yrs(>15). Every year the wines are good. Sometimes their vintages are great(2012!). Sometimes just good. Only issue is their limited access to taste. Note- make your Rezzies way in advance!

Our favorite winery in Sonoma. It's a small family operation and the people are so friendly. Great red wines and olive oil. Vineyard is absolutely beautiful. Short trail that goes a pond with a fabulous view of the hillside with picnic area. Call to make reservations. Locked gate entrance. Free, no pressure tasting.

It takes some planning to visit A.Rafanelli Winery, as it's necessary to call ahead and make an appointment. Access requires a gate code, which they'll provide at the time you confirm your reservation. The reward is some of the best red wine I've ever tasted. They offer a dark chocolate to taste with the cabernet, and it partners perfectly. Visitors... More

We made an appt no problem, showed up a bit early and were asked politely to wait as the prior guest was not finished. I overused Dave rafanelli's garden and it was an enviable garden for sure. Talk about a green thumb! When it was our turn we once again learned more about the family -4 th generation running the... More

I read so many wonderful things about the wines of A. Rafanelli. This was our first wine tasting on Valentine's Day. The winery and grounds are beautiful. The owner's daughter hosted our tasting. She didn't seem so excited to host people. She mentioned that she had been working 9 days in a row so I know she was tired. She... More
