We had an 11:00 reservation on a Thursday morning at Mazzocco. The patio area and grounds where the tastings take place is quite beautiful. The tasting room itself was also very nice. We were the only visitors at that time and Simon was our wine pourer. Simon was very knowledgeable about the wines, but not very engaging. The wines were nice. The club discount at Mazzocco is only 10% unlike most of the other wineries under the Wilson umbrella which offer 20% for a cask membership. This was our least favorite tasting as it felt kind of like a death march! No humor, no fun, just taste the wine. We felt obligated to purchase a bottle and even tipped but the tasting was a bit painful. This visit was a bit of a surprise as I had tasted Mazzocco wines prior to this visit and loved them. I was a bit worried I might overspend here. That wasn’t an issue at all!

Loved the space of the patio which was terrassed. We were there the 2nd week of November and it was too hot to sit directly in the sun. Being from Wis, I loved that. The Winery is next to rows of vines which were were turning to fall colors and it was truly beautiful.
David was our host and he was knowledgeable and friendly. They did have a nice special going on for club members with complementary shipping, so we got a case sent home. We got here at 3:00 and we just were finishing at 5;00. It takes time to sip wine and order. Just sayin'.

Eddie was fantastic! Suggested we try a few wines not on the tasting menu and we ended up buying six bottles. Excellent customer service. Beautiful grounds. One of our best winery visits ever.

My wife and I returned to the Sonoma wine country for our 34th anniversary to revisit some of the wineries we first encountered in 1986. More than a few things have changed over the intervening years.
Mazzocco winery has grown from a small modular building to an impressive winery and tasting room with a beautiful outdoor garden patio. Tables were spread out and umbrellas provided for adequate shade from the hot August sun. Our hostess, Holly, was wonderfully kind, gracious and knowledgable about the wines we were served. We even got to try a couple of wines that were not on the tasting menu (and thoroughly enjoyed). Now we're looking forward to drinking the wines we ordered and had shipped to our home!
If you like Zinfandel, you must try Mazzocco.

We came all of the way from Wisconsin with our best friends to enjoy beautiful Sonoma County wine country and celebrate my wife’s 60th birthday. The people at Mazzocco were wonderful as we loved staying at the Briar Cottage. The accommodations at Briar Cottage were ideal and our stay was fantastic. What better way to spend a long weekend but with great friends, awesome Mazzocco wines, and good food in beautiful Sonoma County. When we come back we will definitely stay here again.

Giving top scores due to the fact we spent 2 nights in the winery's Briar Cottage. A very comfortable home away from home during our trip. Full kitchen, nice living room, a bed that felt "just right" and a great deck overlooking vineyards and the Healdsburg air strip. The wines by Mazzocco are Zins mostly. So you need to be a fan. The tasting itself I would rate a 4 out of 5. Nice garden location, but not as personable as others.

We had a wonderful stay at the Briar cottage at Mazzocco winery. We had 3 couples and we had plenty of room to comfortable in the house. The staff is very friendly and inviting in the tasting room. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to staying here again!

The Briar Cottage is in a perfect location surrounded by incredible wineries. Not to mention the great wines on the Mazzocco property.
The cottage is roomy and the bedding is amazing. We cooked one night and had everything we needed cookware wise to make a great meal.
We would stay again

The tasting was apart of the wilson family conglomerate. Nothing special. The wine which is highly reviewed didn't hit my sweet spot. The setting itself was on par with what I would expect and the service was just fine. Many other places I would go in Healdsburg before this one.

Spacious cottage which feels like an extra-long double-wide trailer. The central AC does not serve the entire space, is noisy and freezes up at night. On-site winery needs interrupted water supply on a very intermittent basis. Ample living room space with a large flat screen TV, but we never could make it work despite reading all the available how-to info both in the welcome letter and the equipment manuals. Outdoor deck has a nice view and good places to sit and to eat evening dinner (and morning coffee) but also needs significant work if guests are to avoid splinters and stepping on old nails backing out of the dry wood. BBQ was excellent, and there is a horseshoe pit and bocci ball court on site. Beds were OK, but the bedding was far too warm for the climate, and opening of windows was limited by lack of screens. Not a lot of crime in this area, but the place is far from secure with windows that do not latch properly all around the place. All that said, we had no trouble and found the space adequate despite the numerous shortcomings. This is a 2 star rental on a 3 star property. Wine tastings on site were OK but much less than fabulous.
