The drive leading to AVV is gorgeous, we drove coming from Napa and there is a difference is the landscape closer in Sonoma.
Tasting room is somewhat refreshingly old school, Tom gave us a great tasting and totally read our level of how much we wanted to be told, as well as how much we wanted to just taste and enjoy.
The caves are keep going and it is a great experience coming form warm into cool caves.

I recommend walking the vineyards and staying for a bottle on the porch, we enjoyed the Rose 2021, perfect for a summer day. Overall highly recommend and take time to relax and enjoy the experience.

Alexander Valley Vineyards is one of the most historic vineyards in Alexander Valley. It traces it's roots back to Cyrus Alexander who founded the Alexander Valley in 1841. Since 1841, the property has been owned and operated by only two families. Their wines are some of the best we have tasted and are affordably priced. And the staff are the best. This should be a "must visit" on anyone's trip to Sonoma County wine country.

Another great trip to Alexander Valley Vineyards. Our group of 4 visited the Vineyard in 2019 and the same group returned June 2022. Each time we visit AV, we always leave saying “it was even better this year”.

Great time outside on porch (inside is available) enjoying many of the AV wines and the beautiful weather. Denise was our host and as always, she did a wonderful job sharing the history of Cyrus and Wetzel family. It’s obvious she and the staff is considered part of the Wetzel Family as most of them have many years invested at the Vineyard. Although we didn’t anticipate a cave tour, Denise was a trooper and eagerly lead us on the way with glasses in hand. The caves are a must, always a treat and super special to spend time walking and admiring the work that goes into making great wine. Lots going on at the winery, we had the opportunity to see additional growth happing on the vineyard as they were drilling another cave.

Katie Wetzel was leaving for an event but stop to speak and spend some time with us. Great conversation from sports to wine.

Many thanks to Katie, Denise, and Tim, we had an amazing time with you. Until next time!

We really enjoyed our trip to Alexander Vineyards last week while visiting Sonoma Valley. AV is located in a picturesque valley outside Healdsburg that lets you know they grow and produce great wines onsite. We tasted some great wines Bordeaux blends and also including their Sin Zin which is outstanding and a great value, proving that not all good wines are expensive. Denise and Tim (on the cave tour) took great care of our group and were great fun. We look forward to the shipment and tasting these great wines.

This was our third visit in the last 2 years and, based on our previous experience, we specifically asked for Mark to be our host. We were a group of 6 and we had a delightful time.
Mark has a great combination of attentive service and non obtrusive involvement. He is quite knowledgeable about all the wines available at AV and he presents information in a way that makes sense to his guests.
The AV wines are a real bargain. Without exception we found the wines to be well made, balanced, and representative of the Alexander Valley.
Our favorite is the Cyrus label (Bordeaux blend) red wines. We tasted 3 vintages and together we purchased 2 cases. These are big red wines that are sold at a great price.

The setting was nice and relaxing, and the employees gave us a rich history of the establishment. Moreover, they gave great insight into the neighboring area and advised us where else we could find good food and other excellent wineries.

We recommend the reserve tasting if you are a fan of rich and flavorful red wines. The pricing is also very reasonable and it was our favorite tasting of our entire Sonoma/Napa trip.

For those who are going during "Covid" we recommend making a reservation far in advance as the tables are outside and spaced out a far distance, but there is only limited seating compared to their normal capacity. The staff made sure to follow all necessary precautions.

My group researched Sonoma County wineries for weeks ahead of our visit. Our quest was to find friendly, unpretentious wineries with great wine that was still budget friendly. We knew this wouldn’t be easy, that we were aiming high, and if we could come somewhat close we would consider it a success. Alexander Valley Vineyards hit the mark! Wonderfully made high-end wines at reasonable prices, a comfortable, friendly tasting room, and very knowledgeable people. We couldn’t have enjoyed the experience - or the wines more!

We had a lovely experience tasting wines at Alexander Valley Vineyards. After reserving online, we were sent a form to choose the wines we wanted to taste. We arrived and were seated on the shady porch, and the server was attentive and able to answer our questions. The variety of wines on offer was outstanding, hitting all price points and enough variety that my husband was able to stick to white wines (he is sensitive to reds). They charged a very reasonable tasting fee that was refunded with wine purchase. We would definitely go back!

Amazing experience! What a wonderful way to visit a winery... walking thru the vineyard stopping at all the different vines to taste the wine made from those grapes! Denise was an amazing host, friendly and informative! We loved hearing about the different grapes and unique and distinctive leaves of each variety! We had plenty of time to enjoy the property and take pictures throughout the vineyard. The best part was ending our tour at the tasting room a lovely lunch waiting for us. Highly recommend this experience, it’s very personal and presented in a very socially distant manner.
