Open By Appointment Only. In the heart of the beautiful Russian River Valley, Gary Farrell Vineyards & Winery offers a proud 33-year winemaking history and a unique sense of place. Perched atop a ridge along winding Westside Road, the winery offers a spectacular view of the sweeping valley below. Gary Farrell Winery benefits immeasurably from its long-term relationships with many of the Russian River Valley's most celebrated and sought-after vineyards including Rochioli, Allen, and Hallberg to name a few. Gary Farrell Winery helped put Russian River Valley Pinot Noir and Chardonnay on the world stage, and the hallmark Gary Farrell wine style remains one of balance, elegance, texture and sense of place. Today these acclaimed wines can be enjoyed on our intimate outdoor terrace and the view from our winery completes the picture.

Amazing view and winery

We just were there last week and had a great tasting out on the terrace. We really enjoyed their selection of Pinot noirs

Ruthann was very easy to talk to. She was knowledgeable about the history of Gary Farrell, the vineyards/grapes used locally, and the area. She was not pushy in any way. Truly enjoyed our afternoon and can't wait to get our shipment!

My wife and I did a tour of wineries in the Russian River Valley and started it off at the Gary Farrell Winery. We did our tasting outside with lovely views and fantastic October weather. The wines were very good and we purchased several to take home with us. They had a great selection of Pinot Noir that accentuated the... More

We went to Merry Edwards Winery before Gary Farrell. Big mistake. At Merry Edwards we were seated in a posh tasting room with Brown our host. He spent an hour with us and tasted 12 wines including a special $100 dollar bottle with cheese to cleanse the pallet. I bought $800 of their wine and that fabulous tasting was FREE.... More

Hi Scott, Thank you for your feedback, and we're disappointed to read that the experience did not meet your expectations. Our Terrace Tasting is a different experience than a formally hosted/private tasting such as Merry Edwards, as the environment lends itself more toward relaxation and a casual interaction. Our guests generally enjoy learning about the wines and asking questions as... More

If you are looking for an amazing tasting experience that combines very special wine with an unparalleled view -- go to Gary Farrell. Perched atop a hill overlooking the Russian River Valley, this is a fantastic break from some of the busier wineries in Sonoma and Napa. Quiet, peaceful, and with amazing wine. It's a truly special place.

This is the most beautiful tasting room and terrace that I have seen. It is way up a hill overlooking the valley. It is designed for the views which are fantastic. You can sit outside or inside at the bar and taste first class wines, but take your time as you enjoy the scenery because it is expensive and you... More

We were fortunate to tour during "crush" and got to see some of the initial stages of wine making at Farrell. Although they don't have their own vineyards, they do get grapes from leading producers in the area. The tour was informative and the tasting was leisurely with three chardonnays and three pinot noirs. Because Farrell is a bit off... More

My wife and I had made a reservation for a tasting at the Farrell winery for the last day of our Napa vacation. We almost missed the tasting due to a triathlon being held that day which had some roads restricted to the winery. We persisted and found a alternative route and were so glad we did as the view... I visit Gary Winery once a year and enjoy his top of class Pinots all year long. I brought my family out and they enjoy the entire experience. What is not to like about sipping class act wines while overlooking the Russian River Valley. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Gary Farrell always make my list of places to... More
