We went to this park with a walking group. The group chose the "forest" walk which was beautiful! The trails are well maintained and a good portion is ADA friendly with a walk way. The ocean view while hiking in the trees was amazing!

Harmony Headlands hike starts in the parking area by Hwy 1 and goes all the way to the ocean. Fairly flat all the way, deep grass and brush off the trail but really interesting and great views all the way. It's about 2.7mi one way with a wide trail that splits over looking the ocean. One trail leads down by the cliffs and the water and the other is back farther away from the edge. The trail ends at the No Trespassing signs and a fence to the private property. Heading back is no problem, we took the high trail. There is a restroom building about 3/4 mi from the car park. This is a great hike and you will enjoy it. Weather in May, at least that day, was great with hardly any wind. If you have time you should do this one. About 6mi round trip.

While we specifically came to Cayucos to hike this park, it is by far not the only place to hike. We were thrilled with our hiking choices and wished we'd have had more time to explore others as well. While this is a very dog friendly area, we were surprised no dogs are allowed in the park although we did pass one couple with their dog, but also saw another outside the park with a dog while her niece enjoyed a hike. The trail is nice and wide and has some pretty flowers in bloom in spite of our drought. Did see a few of the "ghost" trees. The trail is approximately two miles long and there is no loop, so must back track.

Nice little hike through native grassland. Well maintained trail with spectacular views up and down the coastline from the bluffs. This is a must see if visiting the area or just passing through.

We hiked the 1.5 mile trail from the parking lot to the ocean on Father's Day. It's an easy walk with very little elevation gain on a wide dirt trail. We saw large wing span birds, lizards and a big shiny snake (not a rattler) that slithered in front of us crossing the trail. The pay-off is at the end where the trail opens up to views of the ocean. There are a couple of benches to rest along the way. But like on all trails, be careful of ticks (we ended up getting one) and bring a hat, water and snacks. My family had a fun time and we recommend it as an easy outdoor family activity. At the time we were there, parking was free.
