Our days to walk we saw people in a water rescue class practicing, kids and dogs scampering, people who looked like they walked it daily. We avoided climbing the rock barrier on the South end...looked too dangerous, though others did it. I'd go back in a minute

Had an amazing time and met the legend of Big wave Surfing at the MAVERICKS surfshop JEFF CLARK. Have a nice lunch in the pier and then stayed till dinner just enjoying the peace.

Nice quiet beach hardly anyone on the beach while we were there. Very relaxing. Think they only have the Porta potty's, and if you're lucky like we were you can see dolphins!

We found a lot of dead birds - maybe some disease there? this was in september 2015. The beach itself is a mixture beween wilderness and possibility to "swim" - if you aren't afraid ... Beautiful place even if it is cloudy

We stopped by on our way up to San Francisco for the views and some ocean air. We were thrilled to see a TON of dolphin swimming and frolicking incredibly close to shore - one was in the waves breaking onto the beach. So if you stop in HMB at a lookout point or beach, be sure to really scan... More

You have to take steps to go down and back up, but certainly worth it. You feel like you're in Wales. We walked back up to watch the sunset to get the whole view.
