I stay in Half Moon bay often when traveling for work and take advantage of the wonderful trail along the cliffs for running or walking. The beach is typically very clean and there are lots of great places to sit and contemplate life's biggest questions. It's very safe and there are always lots of people using the trail.

Nice public beach, lots of amenities as far as tables, grills, places to setup. Had a nice time with the family. Saw people with volleyball nets, playing frisbee, flying kites. Had trails to walk not far of beach but still able to see beach. Overall very nice.

The Half Moon Bay State beach has always been a wonderful place to enjoy the fresh air and feel the sand between your toes. Impossible to have a bad time here. Just breathe in!

A early morning walk along this beach is food for the soul. But more practically it provides campsites on a bluff overlooking the beach. There is a long walking path. Good on shore fishing. More doable surfing than nearby Mavericks. But for me it is the insistent sound of the breaking waves. A seal just offshore. Pelicans skimming the water.

great camping. Dog friendly. Camped in a Travel trailer, so can't rate br's or showers. Electrical hook ups. In the mid 60's daily, great to escape the heat.

Just a 2 night camping get-a-way w/electric hook-up in a premium site. Walked the beach, we did see a humpback whale! The weather was nice kinda overcast, sun every now and then, but 25* cooler then at home. If you wish to pick a site of your choice it's best to get on line 7 months early from the date you... More

We used the RV Park at Half Moon Bay for our final stop before SF. As with all the State parks we used the facilities were at a minimum and "OK". The toilets and showers were not particularly clean but usable. The location was spectacular, right on the beach and the crashing waves were a great way to fall asleep..But... More

Beautiful beach, cliffs, rock formations, and tide pools. Some huge waves can be seen breaking on the rocks. Definitely worth a visit. . . so many amazing beaches to see along the Rt. 1 drive.

Worth stopping for, beautiful! We saw several wales breaching as well as sea otters. Bring a jacket as it gets quite chilly even in the middle of summer.
