Wonderful day at the beach

There is parking and a bathroom, but you have to wade through a fairly large lagoon to get to the beach, so too hard to do with little ones and picnic stuff. We moved on to another beach. It's a small beach too.

We came with our daughter and grandsons on a recent visit to Sunnyvale. I have to say, this is one of the more beautiful beaches in the area. There is a small stream that flows into the ocean from the mountains and it seems a much better pace for little ones to play in the water. You don't have to... More

There are so many breathtaking beaches between San Francisco and Santa Cruz. From my daughter's home in Palo Alto we drove to Half Moon Bay and south to Pomponio Beach. We had 3 youngsters with us ages 2, 5 and 9. Small parking lot with a stinky portapotty and a fee of $8/day. The weekday morning was overcast and winds... More

Nice picnic beach. Great to explore. Sometimes has washed up wood logs on beach. Kids love this beach.

It is definitely a nice clean beach. Not that many people there. It was nice to be able to sit back and relax without being on top of each other.

Peaceful relaxing time just watching the waves come in. Close enought to half moon bay to check out local eateries and get back to the beach. Nice clean beach.

Pomponio State Beach is a simple beach. Simply beautiful and not usually too crowded or cluttered. The Yelp Reviews give a more opinionated description, but it is located not far from San Gregorio beach and the San Gregorio County Store which has live music as well as food and a unique collection of bumper stickers and other things you might... It's a beach, not particularly attractive, but lots of sand and surf (no swimming - it's cold and rough). This may be a jaded viewpoint but I like beaches w trees, or at least something to love in the view

A nice bit of beach when exploring Half Moon Bay just off Highway One as we were heading up to San Francisco. Its very scenic and it was just a shame we only had a brief stopover.

We loved stopping at this beach. The hiking was fun and we loved the cliffs and beach. Make this spot a stopping point as you drive down Highway 1. It's worth the time -- make some memories there!
