Sierra Mac specializes in Yosemite rafting trips. We were first the outfitter on the Merced and Tuolumne Rivers and the pioneer in opening Class V Cherry Creek to commercial rafting. Founded in 1965, Sierra Mac is a locally based, family-owned business. We are located just 15 miles outside Yosemite's northwest entrance on Highway 120, perched above the Tuolumne River canyon. Our experienced guides are privileged to host your Yosemite rafting trip. Thanks to winter storms and ample snowpack we are expecting another exciting season for our Yosemite rafting trips. Escape the crowds and connect with yourself, your friends, and the rivers of Yosemite.

Our family went Whitewater rafting on the Tuolumne river (one full day). Sierra Mac tours were great. Kye our leader navigated us down class 4 rapids with one class 5 section. We had 7 of us including 10, 13 & 14 yr olds. 3,000 cubic ft of water flow per second in late June on the river. This was a... More

We took a two day trip with Sierra Mac. Extremely well organized - from the information we got in advance to the many details of the trip itself including the unexpected events-everything went smoothly. The guides were wonderful, friendly and very interesting and informed about the area. Meals were great and food plentiful. River safety was a priority as was... More

I booked the 1 day Tuolumne river trip for myself, son, wife and daughter. My wife was more than a little apprehensive, with the thought of all the rapids and a 18 mile river trip. The guides were excellent, experienced and made everyone feel safe and comfortable. The river was a great thrill, with plenty of excitement. The lunch was... More

We were a bit early in the season and the weather was not great, but we still managed to have a great time. Very well organized company with good equipment and good people. As they were doing training for some park rangers, we got to see them swim in the freezing water and rescue each other. Trip their rafts and... More

A group of ten of us joined Tom and Adam from Sierra Mac rafting for a full day rafting trip on the Tuolumne. We had an amazing time! The guides gave us plenty of excitement while making it feel like we were safe the entire time. They even let us swim two rapids and stopped so we could jump off... More

All I can say is OH MY GOD!!!!! WE HAD A GREAT TIME. This year I did a 3-day trip with a friend, but last year I went twice: once for a one day trip, and then again of an over-night. The food is fabulous, the guides help with EVERYTHING, and that are all so knowledgable about the area as... More

I had booked a 1 day Tuolumne River White Water excursion for my son and I. Approximately 3 months before it was due I injured my back. I contacted Marty from Sierra Mac and explained what had happened, but as this was part of a grand adventure from Australia that I wanted to leave the cancellation to the last minute... More

Spent the day on the main Tuolumne River with Tom McDonnell as the guide, 6 of us in the boat, and had the best day. Lots of splashing going through the rapids, he was great getting us to row together, saw a bear and river otters, what a treat. The lunch was outstanding getting to make your own gourmet wrap...
