I go to Baby Beach everytime I visit Maui. It's a lot of fun and gorgeous!!! Calm and shallow waters.
No bathrooms nearby but you can walk to the park and find facilities. You can also park there and walk to Baby Beach but it's a bit of a walk specially on sand and carrying chairs and coolers. The parking by Baby Beach can be tricky if you arrive late but not impossible. Even if you park on the access streets, walking there is not bad. Just park legally. It's a neighborhood so don't block neighbors and take your garbage with you. Very nice neighborhood BTW!
If you like exercise the dunes are great for running up and down and you can walk back and forth in the water. It's pretty amazing and you will see a lot of locals doing that!
The red dirt on the way to the sand will stain your feet so wear flip flops. Gorgeous color and contrast with blue waters though. Simply gorgeous spot. Amazing sunset!

Beautiful beach when its calm(which is 90% of the time) The day we came on this visit the waves were strong. there was sand blowing and hitting you in the face pretty hard( it was extremely windy this day) you couldn't get near the reef. This is not common though and its usually super calm and tranquil. We did see some turtles while we were here.

This is my favourite beach on the island because it gives you the best of all worlds. The reef that runs along this portion of the beach creates a nice calm area for kids to play, swimmers to swim laps almost like a pool, or just for you to float around calmly. However, just around the corner of the sand on Baldwin Beach the waves are larger and those who like to play in the waves can do so there. Baldwin also has bathrooms and showers and plenty of parking. In high tide or on a windy day the waves still come over the reef here but still it is calmer than many other places on the island. I love this beach for bringing my kids because I feel safe having them swim here but I also love this beach just as adults for relaxing in the ocean. On our last visit we actually got to watch a herd of turtles feeding in the water! Schools of small fish came around the edge of the reef and were followed by about 6 turtles or more that came in and fed on them. We kept our distance and respected them while we watched them feed but it was a very cool show!

Due to Covid and illegal overnight camping and other activities, the Baby Beach parking lot, which is on private property, has been barricaded. Parking on the residential street is extremely limited and is a longer walk to the shore. Baby beach is not a county park and has no facilities, showers or bathrooms .

A great beach when there is no wind. Can be windy on the east side of Maui! But a nice beach even with turtles basking in sun at times. And nice beach for kids if Waves are not too big to crash over the natural reef. Parking is limited. Beach access is just North of Baldwin Beach through a residential area.

Read some reviews for this beach and we always look for beaches that are less travelled. We were travelling with a 5 year old, so the waves had to be somewhat calm. It did not disappoint. We arrived before the rush so we got pretty great parking. A short walk to the beach, the reef kept a small wading area where the little one could play with close supervision. We took a walk and looked for shells. Dog friendly area and relatively quiet. Pristine sands and beautiful waves. It was the perfect first day of our vacation.

It was our little guy's first time to a beach, and we're glad we took him to Baby Beach! Parking may be a bit tough, but don't let that stop you from going. It is called Baby Beach because it is essentially a big swimming pool. The reef breaks all waves and it is uber delightful. See our experience here:

We rented villa at Opal Seas and just enjoyed the experience immensely. The views were great...the beach was clean, and both the water and the people were warm.

We first saw Baby Beach on our Helicopter ride of Maui. We were told by the pilot that is was a very popular family beach and in the am, lots if turtles on the beach. To find it wasn't easy but once we did it was great. Lots of little babies there as you can go into the ocean with no waves as there is a barrier stopping them. Also, you can walk farther down the beach to open waters. We did see one big turtle up on the beach. You can snorkel there too but this day the water was murky. There is a big undertow outside the barrier so be careful. It was a nice day at the beach there.
