FANTASTIC DAY!!
Mar 2021
My daughter, her friend, and I had the most wonderful time on a 2 1/2 hour ride with our guide Randy. The scenery was gorgeous and, as one of our first outings during COVID-19, we savored every moment of beautiful countryside on horseback. Randy was the BEST! He was so charming and a gifted story teller. What an extraordinary horseman who we look forward to riding with again. Circle Bar B is a very special place and everyone there was lovely, friendly, and professional. Can't wait to do this again, saddle soreness and all!!

My best friend turned 60 and had never riden a horse. Our guide Robbie and his son Cade took great care of us. They were able to deal with the different levels of experience very smoothly. Robbie is very experienced and entertaining. Highly recommend!

The horses are beautiful. The trail steep and curvey so even in walk nice to do.
My guide managed to get a short trot and canter in the trail.
If you are in the neighbourhood of Santa Barbera this is a good place to go.

Not a four star experience
Jul 2019 • Couples
Uneven customer service, poor billing procedures, very worn room, no water pressure, food service includes cafeteria style less than generous, lackluster foods at breakfast and dinner and a sack lunch of a sandwich, an Apple, a small bag of chips, a bottle of water. Riding is uphill, horses as expected. Cannot recommend. A comfortable place for the family if not too particular. Poor website.

A wonderful stay!!
Jul 2019 • Family
I traveled to the Circle Bar B Guest Ranch with my daughter and my two grandsons, ages 12 and 15. We enjoyed our stay from the time we arrived. Our cabin was beautiful, the food was delicious, we met some great people, and the hospitality of the staff could not be better. The best part of our stay was the horseback ride high up into the hills. The views were amazing. We could see the ocean at one point. These gentle animals took good care of us. My grandsons had never ridden and it had been years since my daughter & myself had been on a horse. We all will share wonderful memories for years to come.

Great horseback riding
Jul 2019 • Family
Spent a birthday weekend at Refugio State beach. My cousin and her family visited Circle Bar B Ranch and stables for a late afternoon ride on my suggestion. I use to take my daughters here when they were young and the experience was always great. Time did not disappoint as they had a great time on horseback to the top of an amazing overlook that has views to the Channel Islands and beyond. They had an AMAZING time and my niece got a horse shoe just as my daughters did when they were young. Circle Bar B, you’re great as usual.

What a ride!
Jul 2019 • Couples
Went on a half day ride today with my wife. First impression is of a very well run stable. Clean! Not a poop anywhere! The horses all looked incredibly well and looked after. Our horses were great for our level of experience. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The ride itself is beautiful and when I looked out across the ravines and onto the sea and eagles were sawing over my head I definitely had a moment! The icing on the cake was our ride leader Randy who gave us all great confidence on the ride and also provided very entertaining banter about his life as a rodeo rider, movie star and 2Lb baby!! God bless him. Highly recommend this stables for a great horse riding experience.

Saddle up for a scenic ride
Jun 2019 • Couples
Best ride of our lives! And the nicest folks you'll ever meet.

Although they offer one-and-a-half hour and two-and-a-half-hour rides, we picked the half-day ride (four hours) and we are so thrilled we did. The trail wound us through thick forests, over bubbling creeks, up steep hills, down dusty paths and on the edge of fern-lined canyons that offered truly stunning views of waterfalls, shallow pools, mountain lion caves, striated rock formations, billowing clouds and coastline that will take your breath away.

Making the experience all the more entertaining was our authentic, witty, chaps-wearing, belt-buckling trail guide Randy, who regaled us with amazing tales of his life in the saddle, ranch history, rodeos and local critters. A real-life horse whisperer, his bond with his mount and gift for gab kept us engaged and laughing every second of the way.

The ride was quite well-paced and we stopped to rest the horses (and stretch our legs) just long enough to admire the beauty surrounding us and to replenish.

Everyone there is very accommodating, the country vibe is palpable and the rustic locale puts you in a wrangling sort of mood from the moment you arrive. We definitely plan to return for another ride with Randy. If you love horses and you love nature, you will get your money's worth and then some on this five-star adventure. Giddy-up!!
