Casual, fantastic experience of delicious wines with a beautiful view and friendly staff
Spent about 3 hours at the winery experiencing a tasting of reserve wines, enjoying a charcuterie box, strolling around the manicured grounds and taking in the beautiful landscape of vineyards and mountains. Our wine host/expert, Nick, was engaging, knowledgeable, passionate about the wines, and just plain friendly, courteous, and down to earth. We enjoyed our afternoon there and look forward to returning again next year.

    Stunning and Then Some
I attended my brother's wedding at B.R. Cohn in July 2023. The property is beyond stunning and cannot help but create the perfect venue for a special occasion. It was unusually hot while I was there, and I wasn't feeling well. I want to thank Jenna for her help and kindness. She saw I wasn't ok, and she came over immediately and provided me with ice, a cool place to rest and frequent check-ins throughout the wedding. She is a very special person, and her quick response allowed me to finish the amazing night there with my brother and family. Thank you So Very Much for A Memorable, Lovely Wedding. Laura Gutin

    Wine tasting with a surprise
We reserved 2 tastings for myself and my wife. We decided to share one standard tasting and one reserve tasting. The day was warm and the winery was not too busy on a Thursday afternoon. Much more pleasant experience for us than on the weekend when the winery is packed and the Serving staff does not have time to talk to us about the winery or the wines we are tasting. Our server was very knowledgeable and appeared to have been with BR Cohn for some time. Part of our tasting included a Cabernet Sauvignon wine from 2006. It was wonderful and we needed to purchase a magnum to take with us.

    Favorite winery we visited !
I loved this winery, we got to tour and taste wines from 3 different wineries that day but B.R Cohn definitely stood out to me. The place looks so nice and well maintained, the wines were delicious- 4 tastings and I don't think I disliked a single one in that winery. We got to walk past the vines and take pictures, enjoy a glass of wine while walking around the place. Lovely experience, I would definitely recommend this winery and their wines.

    Relaxing with a view.
Very good wine tasting on the beautiful patio overlooking the olive grove and vineyards on the hillside. Stephanie was attentive , knew the wine and remembered us from past visits. BR Cohn delivers very good wine at less than outrageous prices trending elsewhere.

    Above and beyond
Scheduled a meet and greet for friends and family the day before our wedding. BR Cohn went out of their way to accommodate us despite their busy schedule. Our event quickly turned into a weekend defining event for all our out of towners and set the town for our wedding weekend. 10/10 would recommend and we can’t wait to go back!

    A wonderful Sunday in Sonoma
My boyfriend and I had the best time at BR Cohn! The wine tasting paired with their cheese and charcuterie box was absolutely incredible. Our server, Dawn, couldn’t have been more lovely. After the tasting, we were able to walk around the grounds and the entire winery is stunning. Highly recommend to anyone coming up to Sonoma for wine tasting!

A Sonoma Creek retreat in California's Valley of the Moon
The BR Cohn winery occupies a fabulous piece of property. Many of the tasting tables are covered, to allow enjoyment in bright sun or cool mist. The tasting and music performance area is bounded on the west by Sonoma Creek. The Winery fronts (to the east) alongside California Highway 12. The wines match the property for elegance and finesse. Don't miss the Sangiaccomo Ranch Chardannay.

    Awesome service and atmosphere!
A wonderful time, a beautiful fall day under the olive trees with some great music. Thank you Stephanie for taking such good care of us. The wines were as solid as ever - and the best vintage of the Field Blend ever!

    Wonderful wine tasting experience
My husband and I stopped in for a wine tasting experience and to pick up our Wine Club order. We enjoyed a lovely variety of B. R. Cohn wines. Our host told us the story of how the winery came to be and the importance of olive oil and music connected to the winery and noting the vineyards and wine collections. Her pace was excellent and knowledge of the wines complimented each pour. The tasting experience allowed us to adjust our wine club order which was greatly appreciated. We are looking forward to returning to B.R. Cohn winery.

We were looking to purchase their terrific Rasberry Champagne Vinegar and could not find it in any of the normal places that carried it so we decided to drive to Glen Ellen and pickup a couple of bottles. We heard that the winery was beautiful so this was a good chance to check it out. We decided to go on a Thursday afternoon and I made reservations for a picnic lunchbox and wine for 2.....during COVID they cannot do wine tasting so you purchase wine by the glass/bottle. When we arrived it was not busy at all and we got a great table overlooking the vineyards - it was a warm beautiful clear day. Our server was very friendly and got our picnic right away and our glasses of wine. We ended up joining the wine club and olive oil and vinegar clubs because we liked the wine so much and love their olive oils and vinegars. With the membership you get 20% off the listed prices.

This is a beautiful place to spend a relaxing afternoon in the wine country. Family owned and very warm staff and such beautiful scenery!

The customer service was bland at most. The wine was not for an acquired taste due the wine tasting cheap. There was no complimentary pairings for the wines. The wines themselves did not go down smooth at all and it felt as though we were drinking hard liquor. There was no flavor in the wine. The person who served the wine didn't give a lot of history on how the wine was made and the process she only gave a history on the property. Our experience wine taster didn't enjoy the wines along with our new wine taster. The customer service was cold and uninviting. Loved the scenery though. The property is beautiful yet a waste of time due to a lack of great customer service and over priced wine you could find at a drug store.

Best wine of the small tour we went on. Flights were tasty and our waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly. He found some wines we wanted to taste that weren’t on the tasting and really enjoyed those. The vineyard is beautiful and we enjoyed walking around. It was a bit busy but once we were acknowledged by the waitstaff (that took a while) then the service was efficient. Cost for bottles was a bit high but the value of the tasting compared to others was good.

Our wine tasting expert was very knowledgeable and courteous and he had a great sense of humour . He not only described in detail the wines that were on the sampling menu but gave a great descriptive of the wineries history and facilities. Finding out about the concerts that have taken place there omg! Made us so jealous that we haven’t and won’t be able to participate. Best winery ever!

After making a reservation a few weeks in advance, I thought when we arrived we would have a reserved table, yet that didn’t happen for our party of 6… instead of a nice table, we were shoved to the back behind the building, with poor service and 1 menu for a table of 6. Further, there were zero things comped (ie, tasting or additional wines for tasting, etc) despite purchases etc. We are members at several wineries in the area and have been to BR Cohn many times, but never received such poor service before. Will not be back for the tasting again unfortunately.

This was a last stop before heading back to the east coast. Beautiful property, great wines, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Having wine at 10am was a first, but as pointed out "you can't say it's drinking all day if you don't start in the morning!" Lol. We enjoyed some great wines, and had the bonus of the amazing olive oils and vinegars to try. Trying oils and vinegars can be overwhelming without something to try them with, so we grabbed some crackers and cheese, bought a bottle of wine and sat at the picnic table for a great experience. Joined the club and took advantage of a great 1 cent shipping offer. Will certainly visit here in our next trip.

Although the grounds were amazing, the crowd light (during the week) and wines tasty, our service experience was off. My wife and I opted for the Estate Tasting at $50/ea and also purchased the charcuterie box at $25.

Our young server was not interested in us or our taste in wine. It seemed like he was reading from a script when going over each tasting. At one point he offered us an additional tasting that he must have forgot about later.

We have had some pretty amazing tasting experiences in our day. Beside price, I would break tastings into four categories:
1) The quality and taste of the wine
2) An educational experience
3) Friendliness and hospitality
4) Service
5) Ambiance

On a 1-10 scale I would rate BR Cohn as follows:
1) The wines: Above average perhaps 6 or 7
2) Educational: 1
3) Friendliness: 5 (average)
4) Service: 1
5) Ambiance: 8 (lovely)

The wine tasting experience was a “meh” kind of experience. We didn’t have much interaction with the person helping us other than here’s your next wine and a little bit about the wine. We were expressive that we were red wine drinkers and we only had one of the ones that actually were grown at that winery. The good news is we did pick up a couple of the balsamic vinegar’s. But if this was the first winery I would’ve went to I would be disappointed.

My husband & I wine taste often. We’re members at wineries in Napa Valley but also frequent wineries all over California. This was our first time in Glen Ellen and unfortunately it was one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had. We were sat outside and our server VERY briefly greeted us and poured our first wine. There was no explanation, no conversation, nothing. Maybe some don’t mind that, but we actually enjoy hearing about the wines and engaging with our servers. That is how the rest of the tasting went… he’d come out, tell us which wine he was pouring then walk off. I’m only giving 2 stars because the grounds are beautiful. We really enjoyed walking around and taking in the views. Really wish we had a better experience.

This is a beautiful venue. Going in the fall with all the grape vines having orange leaves made for a pretty backdrop. The service was professional and friendly, but very slow. I think they had a large party inside (we opted to sit outside) and they may have been short staffed. Our server would come by, then leave for very long periods of time. He apologized at one point and brought us some extra tastings. We were able to walk around and take some photos of the gorgeous oak trees and colorful vines with the green hills. The wine didn’t impress us; most were very young vintages and tasted as such. We didn’t buy any. I would probably not come back, but we enjoyed the experience anyway.
