We have been visiting Sonoma and Napa for over 40 years and this is our perfect type of wine experience. They are dog-friendly and they let you bring your own picnic (rare these days). We reserved the picnic table ahead of time on their website and purchased a delicious bottle of Syrah- Zinfandel. Our hostess Carol was wonderful and so great to talk to.  The setting is spectacular.   We can't wait to return.

We couldn't not come to another vineyard, so on recommendation from our hosts that we were staying with in Sonoma we drove up to Glen Ellen and came here to Little Vineyards.

We booked a tasting session (loved the Syrah-Zinfandel) and they were all incredible. It is a very small vineyard and we loved the laid back peacefulness of it. Staff were very knowledgeable. You can take your own picnic with you too.

A local friend arranged our visit to this winery and we were not disappointed. The staff was very nice and the wine was wonderful. My friend joined their wine membership since the service and wines were so nice.

We come to the valley's once a year, most of time with a group, but this time, it was just us. We do a lot of up front discovery work, spreadsheet and reserve spots before we come. We cam upon the Little Vineyard by chance and boy are we elated that we stopped. Off the highway, behind some trees and next to a large winery, this is your kind of boutique winery. Extremely freindly, with strong viticulture knowledge, rushed and women are treated the same as men. Not sure where that review was going. The Merlot and Cab are great. The blend was outstanding with a great "Little Band" story. We met Rich and Joan Little who are as fun and open as their winery. GET HERE!

We stopped by Little Vineyards on our last day in Sonoma, as it was on the way out of town and I had read about it online as a recommended place to go to get an small personal experience. I couldn't have imagined something better... We drove along a small dirt road through some vineyards and thought we had made several wrong turns, but if you pay attention to the signs, you'll get there. The last corner brought us the sight of the main building with the "Sanford & Sons" tractor out front. The building and outside seating were awesome. Set up very simply, but perfectly. You walk into the tasting room, just a large open room, and a friendly woman was there to greet us. We tasted some great wine and bought a bottle to drink outside at one of the tables with some of our food that we brought with us. There are no frills here, but just a quaintness that we absolutely fell in love with.

We set up the food outside at one of the tables and sunk into the beautiful views of the vineyard and the surrounding silence. Unfortunately there were a few bees out and about that also liked the food, and my wife got a little freaked out, so we went inside at the indoor table. There was another small group there tasting, and it happened to be the musician who had just performed at the Little Vineyard the night before. Yup, you got it, they had a small concert there on property. I guess it was the 3rd time they had done it and it is becoming increasingly popular. Too bad we missed it b/c it sounded awesome!!!!

We spent 4 days in Sonoma County and visited a large number of vineyards of all different sizes. BY FAR, Little Vineyards was in the top 2 of our experiences.

Anyway, if you want a personal charming beautiful winery to visit while in Sonoma... GO TO LITTLE VINEYARDS. The wine is fantastic, but it's so much more than that. We would have spent all afternoon there... cannot wait to get back for another visit.

The tasting room we were in was small and, because the day was cold and rainy, we were the only visitors at the time. The woman, Karen (I think) was such a natural, warm person I almost forgot that it was pretty freaking cold in there.
We really liked the wines too, but would come back just for the setting - and the big, friendly English Retriever!

We recently completed our third wine country visit in the past five years and were fortunate to learn of this hidden gem in Sonoma. As with previous trips, we took a guided tour so that we could fully enjoy the wineries responsibly and with peace of mind. We make it a habit to ask for recommendations for smaller wineries that do not distribute nationally so that we can try something new. Our driver suggested Little Vineyards and we are sure glad he did!

Tucked away in the shadows of and located next to the much bigger B.R. Cohn is this delightful little winery. The small tasting counter in the front of the old barn is barely big enough to accommodate four tasters but don’t let that deter you. Their wine is among the best in the valley and well worth a try. There is a modest $5 fee per tasting which, like other wineries, they will gladly waive with a purchase.

Don’t just take our word for it, let their three (yes, three) Double Gold Medals do the talking. The most recent Double Gold was earned by their 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon along with Best of Class for all Sonoma Appellations awarded at the California State Fair. Still want more proof? Their Band Blend scored a Gold medal, the Best of Class award, and was included as a contender for the Sweepstakes award at the 2011 Sonoma County Harvest Fair.

Next time you find yourself on Sonoma Highway, be sure to include Little Vineyards on your list of tastings.

We’ve been wine members since 2007? We love their wines and have spent a lot of $$$$ over the years. Took 6 friends there last week. Special occasion in the wine country. All of us are from Tennessee so we don’t get out there very often. Made reservations months ago. Told our friends what a great venue it was.

The two girls working there just poured wine for us. Said nothing about the wines , etc. Very ho-hum experience. We were disappointed. 😔

We visited in December and the vineyards looked beautiful. Nice rustic tasting room. We weren't impressed with the wine. Tried a vertical of 5 cabernet and all were too tanic to drink, even the oldest bottle. People are very nice, setting is nice, maybe a good place for a picnic. There are just many other places with better wine.
