We first visited Chris Loxton's winery in 2012 shortly after he opened operations. We loved it then and we love it even more now. If you are hoping to experience passion, dedication, great wine and friendly, knowledgeable people, Loxton's is the place! Not only will you taste great wines, you will also learn a little about how the grapes are... More

We were looking for a "down to earth" winery to visit and Loxton was recommended. The staff spent a lot of time explaining about the wines and were in no rush to push us out. The best surprise is their port. I do not like port but Loxton's was excellent and I had to buy a bottle.

Our Californian friends are friends of owner Chris Loxton, and so our visit to California and Sonoma County had to include Loxton's. Chris is a delight and it is great to see an Aussie fitting in so well with the local wine scene, producing great wines from arrangements he has made with other wine growers. While we were there tasting... More

We had so much fun learning about how he made wine. We spent quite a while just chatting as we were the only people in there as we showed up just before closing time but he still let us taste. I would highly recommend stopping by there and just relaxing during the day.

We visited Loxton via Platypus Tours. Chris was AWESOME. His dry, Aussie humor mixed in fabulously with his grape to table knowledge about wine making. He was detailed about the process from planting to bottling. A very worthwhile visit to fully understand what makes wine what we love.

We stopped here on a recommendation and really enjoyed some beautiful reds in the company of the winemaker and owner, Chris Loxton. Not fancy, more like a warehouse, but still pleasant and charming. Spend some time chatting, and you won't miss the castle or fancy grounds. It is a bit off the main highway, so the scenery is quite fine.... More

We also visited Loxton as part of a Platypus Wine Tour in Sonoma. Appearance wise, Loxton was the least fancy winery, yet the visit was very informative and the wines were wonderful. We had the pleasure of meeting Chris Loxton, the owner from a long line of Australian wine makers, who clearly devotes a lot of time to working every... More

We visited Loxton as part of a Platypus Wine Tour. It was the first of our winery tours, and frankly, the best. We met Chris Loxton, the vintner, as he was weeding his vines. Chris gave us a wonderfully real picture of how he crafts his wine, from the terroir to the weather to the financial realities of making wine... More

Fantastic wines, and fantastic host in Chris. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting to taste some great wine, but also get an amazing insight into the wine industry from a true grower/maker/owner in Chris. A must do when in Sonoma.

This winery is a newer winery. The tasting room is not fancy, but their selection of wines was good. The owner was actually there working and spent a little time talking with us. He was very interesting and very nice. The server, was also very pleasant and the most helpful of the day. Although the winery is smaller and not... More
