We stopped here about noon on a Sunday while traveling through. We had planned to stop somewhere in Gilroy to pick up some flavorful spicy, garlic sauces and this was the one my wife recalled when we were traveling in the opposite direction on the highway.
One of the sauces we were looking for is manufactured in Gilroy and called the Pepper Plant. They have several flavors and we had seen them while traveling in the area at some of the local restaurants. This shop had several of the Pepper Plant flavors and we purchased one of them.
The prices felt a little high but where else are you going find a hot sauce called "Slap my a** and call me Sally"? We just had to get that one for an annual white elephant gift exchange.
And of course, they have lots of garlic for sale. Overall, it was a good experience and the staff were friendly. It's a good stop while in the area!

This is the first garlic shop in Gilroy coming up on 101N. If you're a garlic lover, there's something for you, garlic salsa, garlic sauces, garlic wines. To me, though, the shop seemed cold, literally and figuratively. I think it could use a makeover. Gilroy is supposedly the garlic capital of the world (I saw the documentary Garlic Is As Good As Ten Mothers). To be honest, I was looking for some kitschy souvenirs to take home. I think they can do a better job selling themselves to the tourists they are trying to reach!

As garlic lovers, we couldn't resist stopping here. We tasted a lot of the product and decided to buy some garlic horseradish and garlic ice cream. The ice cream just had a weird aftertaste of garlic. The horseradish is more garlic than horseradish. I did like that so much of the product is local. The shop was nice and the owner was fun.

My mum and I stopped by this Garlic Shoppe. Blimey! The prices of practically all merchandise are skyrocketing! The garlic looked quality, but it was so overpriced, considering, it's the Garlic capital. I recommend to stop by nearby small stores on the road and it's a bit cheaper of the same quality. I will never return!

My girl friend has been bringing me Gilroy garlic every year for the last 5 years. Love it, I put it in and on everything. I finally have had a chance to take a girls trip and visit the infamous garlic shoppe I hv always heard so much about. Great shoppe, anything garlic- if you love garlic, it’s worth the stop!

Horrible customer service.
I placed a rather large order online (I live in Virginia) for 6 of their "Medium Sized Garlic Braids" - which are supposed to have 19 heads on each braid... The braids arrived with only 16 heads on each one, and 2 of the 6 were damaged with broken heads from poor packing material/shipping and they were all dried out already.
I called, talked to the owner Alex who asked me to email photos and said he would review them and get back to me. That was over a week ago. Follow up emails have been ignored. A follow up phone call from my husband resulted in Alex hanging up on him. He was an awful business owner to deal with, and now I am resolved to file a dispute with my credit card over the charges.
Disappointed doesn't even come close to describing my experience. Stay away -- at least from any online orders.

saw this little shop from the freeway and decided to stop in to see what it is all about. A bit rough on the outside only to find an array of sauces, spices, and trinkets for sale. The young man who was running the shop was a delight. He was mopping and cleaning as well as telling us about the products for sale. We bought the amazing garlic crusher and a bag of garlic flavored pistachios for our trip Home. Was a nice surprise inside. They have some dairy cows (furry things) from Scotland and a donkey on site so cute.

Quaint shop right off 101, nice guy who runs this joint. We sampled many items and browsed a good selection of canned and pickled garlic goods. Local wines, fresh garlic braids, reasonable prices. Stop here first.

Nice stop to stretch your legs and get some Gilroy Garlic. Jars of olives stuffed with garlic, spicy sweet pickled garlic, etc. Set up like a farmers market inside the shop. They even have garlic chips, and other things like funny bumper stickers. The two guys working inside were friendly and they had samples of things to try before you buy.

We've stopped by The Garlic Shoppe a handful of times during road trips between northern and southern California and it is a quaint little shop with a nice owner. Lots of local offerings and of course garlic flavored offerings, as that is what the area is famous for. My favorite is the farm animals kept in the adjacent parking lot. Yesterday as the owner closed up shop he told me I could feed the animals some hay before we left and I was elated despite being allergic to hay, I couldn't resist because they were so cute. 2 horses, 3 cows, a donkey, and a chicken in the tree. Just charming!
