One of the most welcoming, warm and unpretentious winery and winemakers alike. Wine beautifully represents land and terroir. Kids and pet friendly, quaint and relaxing. Dan and Therese are knowledgeable, dedicated and very welcoming people. Highly recommend!

The winery is about 4 miles of he main road but welll worth it. Dan and Therese Martin are gracious hosts and are usually always greeting the guests. Not your typical Napa valley tasting room as it is outside with plenty of shade-laid back California style. All the servers are friendly and attentive. Some good wines at non Napa prices. Can bring food for a picnic. Also have made to order pizza. Play area for children but parents need to supervise. Great place to spend an afternoon

I've been a Wine Club member for about 10 years and I have never been disappointed. The wines are superior. Martin Ranch Winery offers a big selection of award winning wines, great staff, fun events, the most beautiful grounds and not to mention the owners/wine makers Therese and Dan Martin. Therese and Dan are so welcoming and authentic. They are usually visiting with visitors during the open weekends. Check them out on FaceBook! Then come and enjoy the day at the foothills of the Santa Cruz mountains.

After visiting several of the local wineries, we decided to join Martin Ranch for a few reasons, one being the wine but also because of the lovely outdoor seating areas and the very friendly and talkative wine makers (actually referring to Dan as Terese is lovely but Dan is the real talker). There's little he can't tell you about winemaking from growing the grapes to picking the type of barrel and cork. They allow both children and dogs as of this writing and it makes for a lovely family outing. For those who don't want children at a winery, in all the times we've been there, you barely notice either kids or dogs; they just have a great clientele. In addition to the lovely picnic areas, there is a kids playground, upper lake area and gardens to see. In the hottest weather we've even done the tasting in the barreling room where the temperature is always cool. They are an upscale winery and it's reflected in the wine club events they put on - Soulmate tastings, Harvest Dinner, Lobster Feed, Wood-fired Pizza nights. What keeps us coming back is that this is the one winery we visit that always makes us feel welcome and that they're so happy to have us back. I realize they can't all possibly remember our names, but they do a great job of making you feel like they do from the welcome table to the people who pour to the cashiers.
