A great place to visit if you enjoy a variety in craft beers selections. Causal atmosphere with friendly staff and always helpful in answering any questions you may have. They will be opening another establishment in Costa Mesa in 2018.

First, I wish we had brought our dogs with us. We have a German Shep and a Border Collie who would have loved the outdoor patio! They also had a large container of some home-made looking dog treats. Then there was the beer. We only had time for 4 tasters, but they were all great. The crowd was lively, not rowdy, and were having a great time. We saw a sushi food truck, but other people had some amazing looking pizza. I'm not sure where it came from, but next time, it could easily be a date with the hubby, the two dogs, a pizza, and a beer.

Nice place to hang out to get a beer and while your at it walk to 2 saucy girls and order a pizza. They will take the pizza to you when ready. The only issue I have is the dogs that are left to wonder unleashed and want you to feed them but aside from that I'm good. Ohh and prices are a bit high on the beers.

We visit breweries/pubs wherever we go and enjoyed this place. The beer was good with many selections. It is not fancy and actually rustic might be euphemistic. Sit outside on picnic tables. Locals throughout. Two guys got into a beef over something which made relaxing not so simple.

I hate to be hard on these guys because they make the great Knuckle Sandwich, but I've been wanting to sound off on a couple of things for a while. First off, the beer gets five stars. They have lots of different offerings, so everyone should be able to find a beer they like. Also, they have bottles and cases to go, so that's great. The tasting room (also called New Tasting Room and Pilot Brewery, circa 2013) is located at the site of the pilot brewery, and there is plenty of room outside to accommodate plenty of people. The tables are flimsy and supported by thin metal legs. The accompanying benches are not any better, and I can only imagine how many people have fallen on their rear because they sat too close to the end of the bench without a counterweight on the other side. There about six or seven large umbrellas, in various states of disrepair, stick in stands that cannot support them when the wind blows. There are a couple of tables inside where you order your beer, but if you sit there, be warned that there will be people standing in front of you, behind you and on the side of you most of the time you sit. This happens elsewhere, so Bootleggers isn't unique in this respect. I really like Bootleggers a lot, despite this review, but the tasting area for patrons is disgraceful. It's bare bones, though it is admittedly light years ahead of the old tasting room, LOL. I know it's easy for me to sit here and tell someone how they should spend their money, but there's a lot more they could to to make it nicer for the customer if they felt like it.
