Were there for some sledding in winter. Garbage was everywhere. Chains required in snow. There's a police office in the town that needs to see your chains before you head up the mountain.

Nice scenic route to get here and enjoy the mountain views and big skies. Easy trip worth jumping off the highway for an excursion.

We went a couple of weeks ago and there was a couple of feet of snow at the Nordic Base. You should have at least a couple of feet on the ground, just go closer to the Nordic base at the end of the road.
