Just played today and had a great time. Tee time was 8:30 am and it was a good idea to go early. Best weather and not crowded yet. As we left around 12:30pm it was waiting room packed. My group is a fun group of people and we play mostly bogey with some pars and a birdie or two. We only got caught from the group behind at hole 15 and we stayed more focused there on. Water on many holes keeps it challenging with well placed sand traps. Greens are well kept and fair. Check in was easy and quick. Many sale items in gift shop. Had a hot dog after 9 and it was perfect but a bit pricey at $5. Overall, we will go back

Ok...I don't golf! But my wife and I grab a bite to eat at Mile Square Golf restaurant from time to time. It's on the south side of Mile Square. Good food, nice menu. Our daughter also held her wedding reception in the 'Castle' same area some years back. Perfect.

We play Mile Square a few times a year and really enjoy it. It is generally very well maintained, few delays, has some challenging holes and is priced reasonably. It is also very convenient with a driving range right next to the parking lot and pro shop.

We played the Players Sunday afternoon and had a bad experience. First, the course is in bad shape. Considering all the rain that is surprising. The fairways are spotty and some grass around the edges was 3-4 inches high. The putting greens are good, but the driving range is mediocre at best. The unbelievable part is that they charge $7 to use a small chipping green between the two courses. When I balked at that one of the guys told me I could chip on it for free for a few minutes before we teed off. Unfortunately, they have a crazy system in that they have to call you before you can get your cart. They called us close to our time so we barely had time to get to the starter. While we didn't play stellar golf, we moved at a good pace. At 10, the Marshall came up and told us we had to step it up because there was no one several holes ahead of us. Was it slow play, or did no one tee off much before us? Or, because we were called late to the tee? We agreed to skip ahead one hole and still finished in a little over four hours. Not bad for Sunday play. Never again. No wonder these courses are losing money. Don't waste your time or money.

Our travel home base was Marriott New Port Beach resort. My inquiry re. playing golf near my Villa came as a shock. . . nearly $300 to play 18 holes!? With 'tablet' and internet I found Mile Square Golf at a reasonable cost--$38 + cart [seasonal]. And the course was only 20 min. away. But be aware of the toll roads, which can really dent your wallet if you do not purchase a 'toll-pass' w/car rental.
As a singelton, the course was very accomodating in teaming me with another 3-some. All the personnel I encountered were polite and helpful. The course is the oldest in Orange County. It was/is well groomed and the grass was base in the fairways was quite thick--as I was suprised when taking a shot with a divit that there was more grass structure below the surface! The holes were a challange & none were unfair to my senior abilities. Mile Square is a large area and actually includes 2 courses of near equal skill level. The course comes highly recommended by me.

This course was in a convenient location - went there with my brother for a round of golf - a little expensive for the actual course - have played other public courses - in better condition - for less money - but it was OK...

A Christmas Round Turned expensive.
While the round played about 4Hrs 15Mins the Course raised their rates for the holiday week. This course has always had amazing greens that rolled true, but for the holiday rates you could of played a lot nicer course.
Greens were in excellent condition, Fairways were a little thin in spots (it’s winter), but over all the course was in excellent condition and one I would play again not during Holiday pricing increase.

Mile Square has always been a nice park that incorporates two (2) championship and one (1) executive golf courses. My preference is the original "Classic" course. The restaurant provides good food at a fair price for your breakfast, lunch or dinner.
