I loved this place! They had an amazing variety of different types of stones, and the employees were very friendly and knowledgeable. Just be sure to go early - they close at 5:00 - at least the Saturday we were there.

my wife is the usual reason for these trips as she likes looking for rocks in different places. We stopped by Chapman's and spent awhile looking through there rock and gem displays. Very nice, helpful when needed and reasonable pricing.

You can easily spend hours talking with the very knowledgeable staff. I am a custom wood worker and some times go there to buy semi precious minerals to use as inlay in some of my pieces

Chapman's is located south of Fortuna just off Highway 101 halfway between Rio Dell and Fortuna. You wouldn't know to look at it, but the museum is worth the stop. It is also a great place to take kids.
